It's not about what I like or what you like. The discussion should be based on reasoning and facts.
Yes, they make copies. Any country which start progressing, start with making copies or crap products initially. Look at India's Tata. They made crappy vehicles initially, but now they have vastly improved.
All I see if China is coming out of that copying strategy and slowing starting to threat old/big players.
Huawei phones were good, but the question is why the west banned them? Phones were not the reason of ban. The reality is, they knew they can't compete with them in 5G technology. Hence, the Trump administration played dirty politics. The same is happening with EVs. Western automakers are begging their Governments to ban them.
The west provoked China by banning Huawei. They made their own OS (HarmonyOS) with Android app compatibility. They have started engineering and manufacturing own chips (Kirin). They know how to make own products and consume it instead of importing everything.
BTW, they are coming in airline industry as well. They will soon be going to threat Airbus and Boeing. Soon you will be travelling in one of the China's COMAC in Pakistan
