My altis 1.8 cvti facelift is producing noise from steering column while crossing pothole and cat eyes. My car is just 16k kms driven. Anyone else facing the same issue?

I had pre facelift CVTi cruisetronic and faced the same issue at 20k.. had the whole steering column replaced under warranty.. but it was very tough to get it from Toyota.

Yes, my grande which is only 4k driven doing the same I think steering assembly needs to be replaced. This seems to be the issue with most of the corolla now a days.

The problem seems to be the telescopic steering rack.. It's more fragile than the fixed one in 10th gen.. My replaced steering rack also started making noise when i reached 35k kms

How much time dealership took to replace the assembly? What did you do after the steering column issue again came out in your car?

So, there is no point in buying corolla 1.8 now over civic since both cars have steering column issue and many people buy corolla just because of the reliability it had while at least you can enjoy the ride in civic unlike corolla.

Three times I had to send the car to the dealership... They took countless test drives and replaced steering joint.. But the problem was not resolved.. Third time i asked them to replace the steering column as I don't have time to send my car again and again.. Then they ordered steering column assembly from Karachi which took a week to reach lahore and got it replaced in 4-5 hours. But for the second time when it started producing noise at 35k I didn't get a chance to send it to dealership as it was my company car and returned it back.

There is a strange very low noise like plastics rubbing against each other or like some plastic or rubber is shaking and rubbing against something. It feels like coming from behind the nav screen.

Anyone else noticed this?

The following parts shake and vibrate due to poor quality and assembly.

1) Top most part of the dashboard. Its a single piece but the plastic is thin (try thumping it with light fists) it vibrates giving the feeling something not ok with the interior.
2) Centre air ducts rattle
3) Infotainment Fascia rattles because its made with worst quality plastic and multiple pieces therefore it squeaks.

Remedy: None.
You go to the dealership they will replace the shitty part with an another shitty part taken off from some other car.

Conclusion: Never believe the reviews given by Pakistanis about any product. This car is as poorly built as any other local car.

Han I thought a new car would fix everything but i seems jb tk Pakistan m rehna h there is no way around. Only benefit of zero meter is k engine chalta h atleast and mechanically it is sound enough. Whereas in used cars maintenance was a huge pain in the ass.

I noticed that if i drive over a speed breaker at 20/25 kmph without applying brakes, the car's shocks are supposed to lift up and come back down smoothly. My cars front left shock doesn't. It sort of claps down like a metal on metal contact instead of a smooth transition. On the other hand, the front right makes no such noise. Anyone else noticed this too?

Yesterday I drove over a speed braker at a slightly faster speed like maybe 5 and the car kisses the braker

Maybe the braker was rough and the speed caused the car to bounce more than it would have.
