Same happened with me few days ago I asked about these 3updates they say there is no changes in 1.6 then I showed them website then they told me to check the cars that are recently arrived there at dealer ship and the 3 updates were there in car and they were shocked as hell

They are not the same.... Both are different things

In D mode the transmission can upshift till 4th gear.

In D3 it can upshift till 3rd gear. No 4th gear.

In D2 it can upshift till 2nd gear. No 3rd and 4th gear.

In L mode it'll remain in 1st gear. No 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear no matter how long u floor the accelerator.

Infotainment is going fine any issue? i am thinking to upgrade it which i missed by just getting car 4 days early, but i am trying to get it near to the freight diff which i didnt pay. will it be a good decision?

So far its going great... Not facing any issue..
Google maps are a bit slow while putting a destination and when it starts navigating.. Other than that everything is smooth..

If u hv a budget constraint and cant go beyond Gli then go for Gli A/T and enjoy the comfort of auto transmission while driving.

About the under powered thing, the experience varies from person to person and is completely relative in nature. If u hv been driving a 1300cc or higher manual car u will feel it under powered.... If u had a 1000cc or lesser earlier you'll like it.....

Corollas resale is good enough for all of its variants....

Also dont worry about fuel consumption that will likely be only 10% more than its manual variant..... Comfort has its cost.....

still the same thing bhai. Uphill pe agar aap D3 mein kar detay hain apka kia khial hai 2 gear mein chali gaye gi on a uphill 3rd tak hi rakhay gi even tough it can go to 2nd it will never downshift in any case

Uphill pe apko chahiye sirf yeh hota hai k upshift na karay so that you can climb easily and D3 mein karnay say it wont upshift to 4th gear so farq kuch nai bachta zaida paddle shifter mein aur is mein

For uphill D is enough. Change to D3 while coming down. My experience on Altis 1.6

For CVT again D does the job well for climbing uphill. On descent use pedal shifters or stick.

In D there is unneccessary upshifting which atleast I would not want my car to do at every turn or everytime I put my foot off the pedal in the mountains.

Who needs a 4th gear while climbing up a mountain?
In D mode the car always shifts to 4th the moment engine is not under load.

I drove a Gli AT in D while going towards Babusar top. It was shifting again n again in 4th gear which resulted in a very poor climbing performance.

I think pedal shifters are way different and give the pleasure of upshifting or down shifting the gears of Grande's CVT manually. @autophile and @mjunaidit may correct me if I am wrong

However, D3 and D2 of an Xli, Gli and 1.6's Super ECT restrict the upshift ceiling only, rest upshifting and downshifting are still automatic.

Use of D or D3 on uphill seems to be a personal choice and depends on one's driving style. Like I myself like to drive in D while going uphill.

Yes i do admit they are totally different but what i was trying to was that both get the job done the same way but AT wont give 100% control and pleasure like CVT with paddle shifters

I never drove a Gli AT at hill roads so can't say, but in 1.6 I never felt car upshifting in D as you have experienced. Super ECT is intelligent enough not to move to 4th, in fact just lifting the foot on gas pedal and then a gentle press gets tyranny to downshift anyways.

For example on Murree expressway while in D on my 1.6 the car shifts to 4th gear even when going up. But gradient of slope keeps on changing along the way and when it encounters a steeper gradient it shifts back to 3rd. This process keeps on happening all the way to the top which i do not like.

Anyways its a personal choice of what anybody would want to do. IMO its wiser to drive in D3 on that road.

D3 has more torque than D. It's advisable to use D3 whether climbing or descending. Better for both the engine and the transmission.
