In ISB and Pindi it returned 13kmpl. I used the breakin technique explained in his threads by @haseeb.basharat, now i have query about engine oil. Should i go for toyota oils to keep warranty or opt for LM or Mobil

Congratulations on your new car. Drive safe. And yes Toyota oils are good but make sure to change the oil at every 5k kms with genuine oil filter only.

Eeeeee my technique was solely based on cvt corolla. Glad you did and it worked for you.
It’s a new car, and 1.3 engine. Use mobil 1 0w40 only with oem filters. To keep warranty use toyota japan imported oil 5w30 or 10w30 tin pack box.

In Lahore toyota airport and toyota cantt are Mobil authorised dealer, but in Islamabad/rawalpindi there is only one distributor of Mobil.

How do they know you put what Oil in it, in case of Warranty issue? Doesn't it all look the same once put in the engine? Also, do they have additional options for GLI Auto i.e. like Android + Rear Camera?

Yes, warranty will remain intact. Even if you go and change oil at dealerships than warranty will remain intact.

Signed warranty book have a lot to say, and nopes all oils have different properties and can easily be tested. They’ll check viscosity index at first place, and match with reference viscosity index.

I mantained warranty only for 20k kms. Toyota pakistani oils are crap. It’s like mantaining warranty for earlier period and than giving up on your car after warranty period. It will and it will surely give issues on toyota oils blended in Pakistan.

Right fellows i would like to state another problem with ALTIS 1.6 2018 and request possible solution.

I own a May 2018 Altis 1.6, as you all know the may deliveries of 1.6 Altis came with notorious ALPINE unit which get almost 20% of radio signals anywhere (only get 20% signals of radio inside islamabad and whenever you leave islamabad signals lost lol)

I have got this unit replaced twice in warranty but did not help.

The mentioned car is used by my parents and now they are very very annoyed from the radio (because thats the only thing parents listen to when in car), they get amazed by the radio signals of my 8th gen civic and any other car they sit in LOL.

i want to get this pathetic alpine unit replaced, i would like to know WHICH unit one should go for which would fit in the OEM bracket/panel of the car? has anyone replaced the FL ALTIS 1.6 unit please? did it resolve the radio signals issue or does it have to do with ANTENNA LAYOUT inside the car roof lining?

Unit is faulty. Rest everything is fine. I got it replaced with the oem being offered by toyota.

I have the same car with the exact same Alpine unit. But I mostly listen to FM89 and I never had an issue with low radio signals. Maybe its just with AM channels...

yes 89 works fine but 107.40, 106.20, 99, 100, 101 all of these work only on 20% with alot of distortion and lose all the signals once you leave islamabad.

I am talking strictly about FM Channels NOT AM

Average Gli AT on M1 @100-110, odo is under 1500kms

first check bro there is an antenna cable at the back of the unit. is it properly plugged in your head unit?

i dont think anyone else have faced radio signal issue so better check the cable first.

yeye all cables connected thats the first thing i checked when i got the delivery of new car.

i have already got this unit replaced twice, i guess i have to get it replaced again.

Thanks. It took about two weeks to reach. No did not check the local market for it as it is convenient to get it from Ali Express then going on a hunt for it. No wire cutting involved, grip to grip fitting.

Bhai when people will have such experience then they will reply. This generation of Corolla I started with 1.6 in 2015, not a single issue or thuk, thak, squeak etc, then nothing in 2016 immobiliser version Grande and now for the past one year Alhamdolilla a Facelif Grande no such thing. Very quite and smooth.
