Hi fellow corolla enthusiasts, I have a problem with my car which I want to discuss with you gurus.
I own a 1.6 Altis which has done almost 30,000 KMs in around a year. I need your opinion on a braking problem which I have been facing since the past month.
The car activates ABS too soon. Even at slow/medium speeds, when I hit the brakes with medium force, the car attempts to slow down a little but then immediately shifts to ABS. This happens when i approach a speed breaker on slow speeds as well! The problem isn't with the ABS system (it works fine in my opinion), the problem is that the car brakes instead of trying to stop the car on their own, just shift to ABS unnecessarily. It wasn't like this before; the car used to have great brakes and ABS was never activated at slow/medium speeds but now it just keeps on activating again and again and resultantly the braking efficiency of the car has decreased! I have checked the Car Tyre pressure, I have even gotten it's brake pads checked by the dealership (Toyota Capital) but they just refuse to accept there is a problem and act extremely casually (really disappointed with their attitude). I'm not the only one in my family who has experience the brakes of the car deteriorating, the rest of the family members have noticed it too.
Can anyone tell me what might be up with the car? is there a fault with the ABS sensors in the car tyres? or is it just the brake pads which have worn off? What could be wrong and how can I fix this?
