I had got changed 2 times cvt oil change from dealership in two cars on 40 k odo about 2 years n 6 months later after car purchase date. Toyota Multan changed it in 6 hours .
Recently in April 20 got changed cvt fr Toyota bahawalpur within 2 hours for 2k labour. I purchased can of 4 litre fr friction reducer bwp for rs.6700. n it was available fr Toyota house Multan for rs.6200 . whereas from dealership it was for 10k as previously changed in other car. #@@@Plz make sure to check expiry date written on the cvt can. N there r fake in market as well. Always buy from trusted shop.
Bwp service manager clearly elaborated that sir if the cvt fluid would be fine likewise colour or characteristics , etc, then no cleaning of filter n opening of pan. But if cvt fluid would be darker colour n losing characteristics then there would be need to clean filter. Oil was darker colour so he opened pan n it was quite fine morning after rain n temp was about 22c so he changed oil with cleaning of filter n advised to change filter on next change ,n 3.8 litre oil was poured into when he leveled .
I did not become extra meticulous n let it happened with opening pan n cleaning of filter. It is brotherly advice that always give 500/1000 extra to mechanic (not manager )with chit chat when he starts work ,then he will care more for ur car work as their pay is only 18 k per m. I think changing cvt oil from outside dealership is not a gud idea untill u trust him a lot.
Always take precautions n v gud endeavour n rest leave it to ur luck .
