I also sent an email to Toyota Indus Motors and stated the problem. They forwarded my email to Toyota Walton Motors Lahore and an appointment was arranged about which I mentioned in my previous posts.

First a mechanic came and tried to diagnose the problem. I told him the RPM drops whenever an electronic equipment is ON while moving. He tried to reproduce the problem on the standing vehicle. Whenever any electric equipment was switched the RPM dropped. He said its normal and showed me a brand new ready to deliver GLi. I told him that I understand this behavior while the car is standing but I am talking about the moving car.

Then another foreman came and did a road test. He said the RPM should not drop so much. He said throttle body needs to be serviced or someone have alter the settings. I told him you can check the service history, the car is only 10,000 km driven and it always came to Toyota Walton Motors for maintenance. And I am not going to pay for the service. then they clean the TB without removing. But the problem is still there.

I think these dealership will not do anything about it. A member mentioned in his posts that the battery can be the main culprit and he seems to be logical. I am planning to change the battery to a bigger one.

I think if any member has a bigger battery (55AH to 65AH) in his other car, he can test it right away by putting the bigger battery. I think this problem can be solved this way.

Please let us know if anyone has tried bigger battery.

toyota indus has not responded to my email whereas the toyota southern motors did and they invited me to come to there showroom to get my car checked . The problem is this that nowadays i am a little busy and cannot manage time to go to them.So its going to take some time before i go there to get my car checked.

Plus has anybody changed the battery and checked .. ?

this isnt due to the battery,im using 65Ah ,stock is 45Ah,even i have the same problem,but after adding groud wires to my car,this problem got solved dont know if it works for u guys or not

He is talking about additional ground wires. You can search on internet or pakwheels about grounding kits etc. In stock setup, body of car acts like ground as -ve terminal of battery is connected to the chassis. The wires are added later on from -ve terminal of battery to various points.

So does adding additional ground wires solve the problem ... ? .. Bcz dosent that provide earth to discharge the excess electrons ... ? .. how can that have any connection with the rpm .. ?

This is JUST the problem I have been fighting with since quite some time and had been thinking that probably its the CNG kit that i got installed after market as the culprit! but interestingly my car shows the rpm dropping behaviour on petrol too! and this came not before 15000 to 16000 Km of my car's milage.

I recently got a new battery installed in my car and trust me guys, not difference.

I went to toyota Ravi just recently. They cleaned by throttle body, but the problem persists. I will be desperately waiting to see the solution coming from some champ here on PW. cheers!

mmm, guys i recently drove a friends 10 gli with a simota intake. When he drives, the car shows this problem however when i drove it, i gave it slightly extra gas and left the clutch slowly. The rpm didnt drop. I think it has something to do with the clutch adjustment. Anybody thought of that?

you have old model and your new batter is for your amps and stuff (A)

I registered my complaint earlier. While road test the foreman said that get the throttle body cleaned. I asked for the cost he told its around PKR 1800 to 2000. So I told him that I want to fix this issue under warranty I don't care if they clean the throttle body, change the battery or do some thing else. Then he said that they will not charge anything for cleaning.

Yes later on I came to know that TB service charges are 1200/- :).

The RPM drop issue when the car starts moving is normal. Either you have to press the accelerator a little bit more before releasing the clutch. or keep on increasing the race while releasing the clutch.

RPM drop issue during the night time driving when clutch is pressed to shift the gear down is still a mystery for me.

It's because of the bad fuel we get, try to fill up Hi-Octane as much as possible. You will see the difference then.

This is not a serious issue at all if the car does not stalls. As you know, XLi/GLi and Altis are coming with electronic throttle so this may be the issue.

The problem most people face is that the throttle response of new corolla is a little bit different then other cars. You will get used to it after driving it a little bit.

This problem does not create any problem if you adapt yourself to it. I will try a solution in near future and will let you know if it will be successful.

my car, GLi 2010, drives alot better now. A major change was felt after these two events:

1) the oil replacement. poured Havoline Formula 10W30 at around 2600kms.
2) next day after oil change, it made a round trip to lahore.

the vehicle feels lighter and more responsive. it is now 4200 done. i am planning to pour TGMO 5W30 on its first 5000kms service.

Well I also noticed a little bit improvement. My car also went for a long trip around 650 km. The drop is still there but not like before. I am still thinking what can be the reason.
