GLX 1.6 can't be around 580k. It must be an abuse car. Stay away from it. Plus maintenance of Lancer is very much expansive

Sir its hard to find any clean ride in this budget. Don't limit yourself. Whatever you find clean one go for it

If this is going to be your first car why not go for a newer hatchback? After gaining expertise in driving you can move up to a sedan after a few years. With a limited budget it is best to keep some money as spare for any repairs/maintenance. I too bought a new Mehran 2003 as my first car then moved up to a Civic 95 in 2006~7. My suggestion would be to buy a popular car like Civic, City or Corolla. Lancer is no doubt an excellent car but parts, mechanics and resale can be a big headache.

Well actually I've kept a lot of cars on rent for 3-4 years and I've been driving in Rawalpindi and even Lahore as well. I'm good at driving and now I'm looking to buy a car. I won't be driving it daily either, maybe once or twice a week that's all.

dear brother, go for lancer eye closed. You will get a great condition car in 700k 2005-6 model.
parts are bit expensive but available in bigger cities. you dont get to change parts very often if you end up buying good car. its air conditioning is epic.

ok so now I'm once again being dragged towards lancer. I actually like it's shape and interior. But I wasn't sure about it's fuel average. And yes, you're right, we don't have to change parts very often which is why I was seeking good build quality in the first hand. And I won't be looking to sell it soon either, so resale value doesn't count for me.

If you're a car lover you will really enjoy Lancer. I've kept 2 Lancers over the years - 1.3 Auto and 1.6 Manual. Maintenance is no more expensive than a Civic, but parts availability could be a problem. I didn't have any issues selling either of my Lancers, so I won't mention resale as an issue. Superb drive, decent power, awesome road grip, awesome brakes and a great combination of comfort and sportiness - not to mention that I love the look of its exterior and interior. Fuel average was so-so in my experience. I've also heard that it does not run well on CNG.

Just last week I drove my friend's 1.6 SR Manual and it was great fun!

Well I don't like to drive on CNG. I won't be driving it on regular basis so any car I end up buying, I'll keep it on petrol. BTW I've seen some guys have swapped lancer's engine with corolla. Is it a good thing? Is corolla's engine any way better than lancer's?

I've never kept a Corolla (nor have any of my close friends or relatives!) so no idea about that. But I don't see any reason to swap Lancer's engine. Its pretty robust, haven't heard of many oil consumption issues and both the 4G13 and 4G18 engines are used in many cars, and parts availability in Asia and Dubai is no problem. Just check AliExpress and its full of parts for 4G13 and 4G18.

Hello.
I have just my Mitsubishi Lancer 2006 for 650 K. I just want to buy an automatic transmission. For your satisfaction I can literally confirm that it will be your best choice.

Mine was GLX 1.6 and on motorway I got 15KM per ltr with A/c on at the avg speed of 115-120.
Locally it wouldn't do more then 9-10 but mine had factyory fitted cng so locally it was good with CNG.

Spare parts are easily available. Only concern about this car is that its electrical system is water sensitive. Typical electric systems are suppose to be water sensitive but Lancer's electric system gets messed up even with moist.

Other then that ITS RIDE IS PERFECTLY GOOD.

Sports edition is Lancer Evolution (Also called EVO) and its expensive. I have seen people selling Same year (2005) model in around 25-45 lacs... So, I guess it is out of your price range.

I recently bought 257,000 driven Lancer GL 2006 model in 650K and still its just excellent. Original 1.3 engine which is very smooth and soundless and powerful still. I recently completed a trip of 130 Kms, out of which approx 105 kms were done on AC and it consumed approx 8 liters of fuel. So its approx 16 km/liter average. There were 5 people in the car with considerable luggage. I guess it is doing pretty good
