Aslamalaikum,

I have 2003 Corolla automatic,and it is 138000 on odo.

I have bought it a year ago,i am currently using havoline 20w50 4 liters engine oil in it.

The cars and the engine performance is all good.

I am going to change oil after some days,and want to change mobil oil brand with same oil grad 20w50.

Plz suggest me,which is the best option for mobile oil for my 2003 corolla?

Either it is kixx 20w50?

Or zic hiflo 20w50?

I'd recommend Caltex Havoline, Shell Helix, Aisin ( or Purple Blue available only in Karachi Plaza market)

Last week car was gone for service and some suspension work. After that 2 liter of caltex coolant was added. After sitting overnight in the morning there was a trail of coolant coming from the engine bay and it was contionously dripping drop by drop. Went to mechanic again. Found out thermostat housing was leaky. Now mechanic says that there should be a groove for the rubber seal to be fit on the engine side of housing but someone has flattened it and now rubber seal cannot be fitted. So he packed it with paper but after putting alternator back started the car and still was leaking. Because of bad design of engine by toyota everytime alternator needs to be removed. He again packed it with cardboard (gatta) and use some silicon and put back. Initially it was not leaking but now at home it starts leaking again. What is the solution for this?

sir i doubt that your mechanic is an engine designer to pass such comments

brother dont use cardboard. for sealing purpose there is only a flat rubber packing around the collar of thermostat valve. find that rubber part.
And loose particles from silicon can clog the radiator.
And It can be easily done without removing alternator.

RPM can be adjusted by moving Idle air control valve sensor slightly up and down. Correct way to adjust is under full load at normal operating temperature. Turn on AC and all lights then move the IACV sensor.
CNG converted can be manually adjusted. There is an 8mm nut and ellen screw on throttle body.

Detech the glove compartment,where you can find filter of air conditioner,above that filter there is a fuses box,which is in black color,open that black box cover,you can see fuses there​

Problem is one my relative is expert mechanic. He is saying you are destroying your car by putting that much thick oil 20W50. He is saying I should go to toyota recommended oil. He is from USA. Even car is consuming oil you should not use that much thick oil instead high milage and synthetic oil should be used. He is saying he can't understand stupid mindset of mechanics here.

Well,you can use any fluid as per your desire,but understanding the Pakistan's weather and atmospheric conditions it is mandatory to use higher grade oil in older and high millage vehicles, due to some wear and tear in engine components thick and viscous fluid stops leaks and prevent excess friction between pistons and engine body,and moreover high cc engines work faster and harder and produce much heat and pressure in this way if we put lower grade than 20w50 in older vehicles,the engine will burn more easily and quickly less viscous fluid,it will burn dark black and the result one can see after 3000 kms.
