One day i see it all fixes up, next day i find it without hood ans interior ripped out, these ols rigs dont afford such treatment, even screws wont fit if opened multiple times

I would need to remove it only for amp/ fuel / back light wirring.

I appreciate the fact that you're doing sound insulation as many people overlook this. I've done this to 2 of my current cars and makes a big difference. Also, I've pretty much done all of that myself in order to make sure that any serviceable item is not covered up. This looks like the Thailand made sheet which is available locally, is that so?

It was imported from USA, 18mm thick sound and heat insulation, not sure about thailand one. Sound and heat insulation is very necessary, i am waiting for door insulation aswell.

That's great because the one available locally is not very effective. I've mostly used different items from AliExpress (between 10-15 mm thick) and each of them have been great. I'm guessing this is closed cell foam?

I boight from aliexpress aswell but dint like thr quality, US standard quality is way better, 18 mm sound and heat insulation is good stuff,

I have insulation
Then cloth insulation ( namda)
Then carpet insulation
On top of that i will have synthetic leather layer

Yes overkill mainly because for sound insulation if you insulate one area then noise from another area becomes even more visible, so it has to be applied smartly i.e. cover all the critical areas without overusing material. Especially butyl rubber because that is heavy, and overusing can add a lot of weight to the car.

In my case I haven't done the cabin floor because I don't want to remove all the seats and panels. For you it makes sense cuz you're rebuilding the car.

Due to the car age and its pure alteration, even the firewall was chopped in middle in order to fit the gear, overkill was necessary as it gets flipping hot, allot of insulation was needed in order to reduce the heat and sound.

I have fitted the rear seats and front, fill fot door cards once i hage that 20mm insulation, progress is slow but getting there

I dont care about the weight added on to car as it is already heavy but still less traction, more added weight means more traction lol i hope, even the woofer box is heavy in order to have some more weight at rear, i was more worried about the heat rather than sound but the insulation works for both lets hope for thr best.

Yes I can understand because your case is totally different from mine. If I was rebuilding then I would also go overkill.

It makes the audio system sound better too, by making car quieter and keeping the audio from the speakers from bouncing off metals, plastics, etc. I started off by insulating around the speakers to improve the sound (because I sat in my friend's same car which felt so much better than my car due to insulation and audio upgrade) and then went forward and did the whole car.

I have applied this insulation sheet in most of my cars especially around speaker area as in order to get proper sound you need to cover it up properly..
