i guess the small piece was supposed to be welded on the chassis frame. other vehicles that came cleaned were Mit Pajero 92 onwards, Surf, LC(yet to see one). etc

for your kind information toyota crown model 1965 was also with seperate frame.
so in 1971 is also seperate frame. Same like Jeeps.

An uncle of mine own a Crown with conversion.I think he had 1978 chasis.He was telling us that its perfectly legal.When its declared illegal?....can anyone eloborate.!!!

  If thats true,he has probably lost a handsome amount of money as he bought it recently...

Keeping in view the market ur car value is 150k if repainted and if color is original then 2 lakhs.not more than this

the decision of court came last year. and since then i haven't seen new convertees while those on the road have disappeared. pls let me know when did u uncle converted his crown and is it with the diesel turbo 92-94 or something else.

if he is very sure that its legal then certainly there is no harm in keepin one of my own....

There are alot of peoples here who themselves don't even have a bicycle and they are commenting on Mercedes,BMW,Lexus etc.

@takko,Well he bought the car recently.Spent around a million i guess.Its in Balck color and Karachi registered.He informed us that actaully supreme court has declare such vehicles as legal (this is opposite to what you people are saying).

I havent ask him fo any proof as he is a close friend of my father.And respect his wordings anyway.But he is not alone in my city.I know my college mate has a converted crown,Lahore registered....

Can anyone confirm the news about such cars being illlgegal

Yes its owned by us since 1971.
Everything in the car is working and still everything in it is original. I use it whenever i go back to Pakistan. Recently installed CNG in it. Its with original petrol engine in it.
Its a daily use car till now.
It was garaged for more than 17 years.
We have spares for it in our stock.

If the condition is as you state, then this is
a keeper. I doubt the new owner will be able
to take care of this the way you have. You
should keep it for another 25 years. It is already
a rare automobile. Put it on ebay, so it has global
visibility, I am sure some Crown lover out there
will pay you more than 300K.
