Lexus has no comparison wth crown......lexus is upper class while Crown is upper middle class....its used in japan as taxi as well....where as u wud not see a lexus as taxi or fr that matter an S class...i guess

lexus starts frm $50,000 +
while Crown doesnt....mayB u can compare the lexus GS wth crown....mayB....but definitely not the LS version.....LS is at par wth Merc S class, BMW 7 series, Audi A8

these kind of rich countries r using more expansive brands as TAXI as compared to them...even i have seen some classes of MERCEDSE,BMW and JAGUAR as taxi in europe and japan...itz CROWN and its better then LEXUS all the way..more comfortable,more reliable and more costly then some classes of LEXUS..the production was stopped by TOYOTA JAPAN and now in 06 after 10 years they again continues..Itz all that i knew correct me if i m wrong but i dont think soo.

Crown is there fr the last 35 years or so....where as in order to compete wth luxury brands around the world toyota launched the Lexus project in 1988-89.... & then came the LS 400 starting at $50,000 in 1990 i guess

if Crown was super luxury brand then why did toyota came up wth lexus??.... Crown is similar to Avalon in US...i guess same engine & chassis..... but again Avalon is not compared wth Lexus

might be equal in terms of luxury wth Lexus ES.......or may B the GS...im not sure

@usman_20 sir lexus was developed soley for the luxury market in the states while as Crown is the alternative for the japanese consumers as u might know there is no lexus in japan (which recently has changed they will be launching it in japan now as well) so lexus is the crown of usa market :).

@khan4ever..u r right brother...well i am amazed to know that there is no lexus in JAPAN yet..how itz possible because LEXUS is laxury brand of TOYOTA and TOYOTA is basically from JAPAN..correct me if i m wrong..

@malik1 bro as i said above the lexus brand is now being introduced in the japanese market before it was only intended for the usa euro market and the great success it has achieved in just a few years has made them change there mind and introduce it in there homeland of japan as well. Basically crown is the alternative of lexus in japan but now lexus will also be launched in japan as well as plans are in place to launch the crown on a global scale also :).
