A quick Google check has revealed that your Toyota Echo might be an Australian or Singapore model. Though it's quite interesting to see such an import in Pakistan.

All this prep work took 2 weeks as I asked the painter to do the quality work instead of hasting.

And we landed safely to our home parking space, where I let the car parked for straight 20 days in a corner where no body can go & fiddle with the car body/paint. As we got the car painted in extreme winters i.e. December 2020, so a fellow pakwheeler friend @effaf27 suggested me not to get the sanding, compounding/polishing done for 2 weeks at least, so that the paint hardens up completely.

Meanwhile, I decided to clean all the remaining double tape residue from door mouldings, air press & monograms etc. This steamer came in very handy for all the clean up.

Its time to clear the wiring mess. Lets start the DIY. Removed the intake manifold for better space & access to starter wiring.

Engine wiring is out.

Speed sensor harness is broken (a depinning tool is a must for such jobs) which I don't have, so I did the job using a needle, which a bit tricky, but once you know the drill, you can easily depin wiring harnesses without breaking them.

There were NITTO TAPE joints everywhere in the wiring.
My strategy was 'get rid of nitto tape, solder all the joints, apply silicone grease & then insulate them with heat shrink tubing & finally cover the wiring in plastic pipe/insulation, like it comes by factory'

Yes i monitor all the data via app on my phone. Back in Feb, I was on motorway when CEL came up & she went crazy on fuel.

Pulled out the code, it was about 'mixture too lean' i think. Checked all the related sensors i.e. MAF, O2, they were fine.

Then observed fuel trim readings especially LTFT, whose % was higher than normal range & it came out to be a vacuum leak from bad injector seals.

Damn, that tiny issue took me 3 days to diagnose. But yes, OBD2 is blessing & I miss it in my 7afe setup.

Nopes ... at the moment, I am not in mood to fiddle with ECU as I fear about frying another M/T ecu of 7afe, which is already getting "NAYAAB" item in the scrapyards.
