Well ... I did some research and found out that if you are a tax payer then it would cost you around 7 lakh in registration taxes and fees. That's quite a lot bringing the total cost of new Fortuner to 5.5 million. For non tax payer I believe it will be close to 6 million. I am sure a lot of people will drive it unregistered until Government finally takes back the newly imposed WHT on new registration and transfer. They have a lot of pressure from all direction on it's reversal. In my opinion Government is already getting a lot out of car buyer's pockets and these new tax will encourage tax evasion and fraudulent tactics.
