My friend, everything for the Hilux can be arranged, whether it is canopies that you require. Initially I also thought I would require a canopy or a lift lid, but now have changed my mind based on the need realisation I have now.
The idea is to first enjoy the stock vehicle for at least 5,000 kms. During this time you'll yourself identify your exact needs and requirements and then you might start with either a XL size Utility box (available) or aeroklas hard lift lid (available) or an imported canopy (easily importable and installable). Next c/would be bullbars and toolbars and suspension..... so on and so forth. All depends on your pocket and ability to control that itch down under as well as distinguishing between what your desire and what you really need. Don't rely on what the commercial sellers preach but rather rely on what the end users have experienced as well as your own study by visiting and reading on international forums similar to PW.
So to answer your question, yes, everything for the Hilux can be arranged, procured and installed provided you know exactly what you want and once you're in the circle, you'll be getting to know a lot of fellow Hilux owners here on PW and elsewhere.
Lastly, if you're coming from a 2 door 87 LC to Revo, it would feel (comfort wise) like moving from a Mehran to a Corolla of not Civic. Trust me on this because I have traveled a lot on the 2 door LC during my college days.
