Then next thing to check first is any leak.
If non found then gasket is bad. Although leak can be tested with proper tool.

System is pressurized and then check for leak.

Thank God you mentioned it, otherwise he might have travelled upnorth looking for the valley.

btw - add that the valley is accessible after removing both upper and lower intake manifolds, and pray that the mechanic knows what a torque wrench is and where to find new genuine gaskets. Shlikone toob results in a forever P0171 or P0174 code or both.

And hope the mechanic doesnt mangle up the knock sensors or their wiring. Thats another bucket of worms.
