hehehe.....cause i analyzed at my own end and came to the conclusion that the new gli is not at all worth the price....a city is way better EXCEPT the comfort part...moreover, with almost NO CNG available now, i wud have to drive the car mostly on petrol, for which a 1.0 is a way better option than a 1.3....so m gonna keep ma baby, and in the worst case scenario, if the engine starts giving me troubles, i wud swap it with a mint 1.0 again no worries....or...i wud even go for a vvti 1.3 for that matter in manual tranny InshAllah....and IF IF IF IF IF i sell my car at all, its not gonna be a corolla this time...it wud be a city

Recently the acceleration of my Platz has decreased and it does not gain speed. My car went to around 80Km/h in second gear when pushed but not hardly goes to 40km/h. The engine makes a lot of noise but not the speed. I went to CNG mechanic for tune up, he told me the clutch plate and the pressure plate needs to be changed. As a short term measure he changed the plugs to BOSCH 4 point ones. I also got the car checked from my auto mechanic he too told me to get he plates changed. I checked the cost of clutch+pressure plate which is around 8500 here. The total expenditure including the labour charges are 10500. My drivers believes that there is nothing wrong with the car even though I can feel the severe performance degradation (The drive is even bad then a Mehran).

What do you guys suggest? I am only hesitating to go for it wondering if its really the plates or something else. Looking for some expert advice.

Dear Mushtaq bhai. I talked to Mr Khalil. After explaining to him the symptoms he diagnosed the clutch plates as weak. He suggested to get them replaced. Now what to do?

Welcome! M sorry for the delay but was mostly away. Price of Platz varies from city to city as well as one's luck. I got my facelifted late 2002 model for Rs. 571500 thanks to Punk who bargained all the way from Rs. 650000. Nonetheless, the very same car is now with its third owner at a demand of Rs. 715000

whereas back in 2009, the guy who bought my ex Corolla sold his 2005 Platz for Rs. 815000 or 850000, he told me. With the increase in prices of new cars and import restrictions (not more than five years old), there has been a constant surge in the rates.

SERIOUS ISSUE TO ALL PLATZ/ ECHO Owners

yeterday on returning from office, i took lift with my manager who has platz,model perhaps is 2002/03

but strange to me that on half way, car gets heat up which wasted our 2 hours & we got late,

when during this, i asked manager that you have not noticed temperature guage, he showed that in platz model, there is no needle/guage for temperature so that it can judge that needle is at quarter/rising

he told that in jdm platz/vitz , you will not find temperature needle/guage,only indicator comes

infact there is just indicator light which only blinks when car temperature shoots high means it is already late and if you missed to see it, it cause what happened with us

so i suugested that i saw on pakwheels that install some temperature guage which shows temperature , in return he asked me how to install and from where it can be installed

Thanks for the concern. But I think this is the case with all JDM cars.

It IS a serious issue. My own Platz heated up once but don't you know even the local Honda City lacks it? There's none in the 2006 model at least.

well my platz has never ever misbehaved, even at 155 km/hr with 4 onboard in soaring summers in sibi, so i cant comment keep the car fit , and such things wont ever happen

I imported platz in 2006 and it is with me since then. Recently I have upgraded he engine to 1300cc with manual gear. No corolla can beat it now since the engine HP is slightly more than corolla and body weight is less
By the way I will sell it now since I imported Airwave and decided to keep it.
