The new Prius can drive about 3-4 km on the battery alone. Get a cheap gas generator and recharge it everyday if you don't wanna spend cash on petrol.

bet some mechanics will invent this "Juggaar" replacing prius battery with a much bigger battery. Charge at home like an UPS using 3kva generator running on Gas. 14-20 rupees per hour -.-

aww c'mon jap cars are not any black art in wiring up or diagnosing, just takes a little investment in your trade to get the right material. And your point of the shop not being able to rectify the VSC error is a class example of what Ive already mentioned a million times.

You can power up a small house with a Prius if you want. But its not a generator or backup UPS made by Toyota.

What are the real life savings or real life fuel consumption of prius? On highways the average should be same as any ordinary 1.8l car like civic or altis. In my perception savings are only stop and go city traffic and that are not as high as some people are mentioning here.

This car only shines in extra extra urban driving cycle in moderate climate places, Running the A/C in "hell" will result in the engine starting up to compensate the discharge of the battery and to power up the drive.

Being a Toyota and avalible in Asia, Scraps have already started coming in huge quanties, OLX is full of Prius part dealers now. But a under 40-50k Japanese driven is still a better option at half the price.
