Salam to all the brothers in the forum...
Today i will be sharing another experience or you can say experiment with my forum mates.
From the first day that i bought Aqua what i heard from every guy having an aqua was DO NOT WASH ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH WATER....JUST USE AIR....
Like all of you guys i was afraid of washing my Aqua's dirty engine room with water during the service.
I saw a video on you tube a couple of months ago.....the video was a surprise for me.
A guy was washing prius engine room with pressurised water during the service and then drove away in the same prius without any damage.......here's the link..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MxgyCqG7c
The video forced me to think.....ARE THE JAPENESE TOO STUPID??
After years of experimentation and research they launched the first HYBRID CAR in 2007. and almost 10 years after the launch of first Hybrid car they are still so stupid not to make the engine room WATER RESISTANT???
The hybrid cars are not meant to be only for the DRY areas where there is hardly any rain. The fact is there are more Hybrid cars in the areas where there is rain almost every day. Every one agrees that driving a car during the rain or snow weather makes the engine compartment as wet as it is during the service procedure.
The video and the new dimensions of thought that the SENSORS AND THE INVERTER WIRINGS should be or have to be water proof or water resistant to be driven in the rainy conditions, forced me or encouraged me to to go for Washing the engine Room with water during the Service like the other ordinary cars.
Alhamdullillah i have now washed the engine compartment of my Aqua twice during the service and no CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OUT......ALLAH K KARAM SE KOI PATAKHAY NHI BAJNA SHURU HO GAYE....
The car behaviour is absolutely normal both times after the service.
Some of the guys from forum may argue about the WARNING GIVEN IN THE MANUAL.......DO NOT WASH ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH WATER....
Well...... i owned Baleno, Liana, Probox, Corolla and Fit Shuttle before Aqua. The manual of all the cars has the same words written in the Service Guide Chapter....DO NOT WASH ENGINE COMPARTMENT.....but i think not only me but all the guys who own these cars have the habit of washing engine room during the service without any harm.
I think it is more of a CAUTION words rather than the WARNING words in the service manual about washing engine room which is routinely written in every japanese or even the local made cars.........just like....
TOBACCO INJURIOUS TO HEALTH AND MAY CAUSE CANCER....written on ciggerette packs....
Out of the millions who smoke....1 or 2 may get cancer after years of smoking....Right???(H)
here is a pic of my Aqua's engine room after the second wash....
