The earlier generation was more prone to errors and problems. Mostly people are happy and satisfied with 3rd Gen. I have hardly heard anyone having issues. And don't worry about the batteries they don't give up that easily. I have a 2011 S-Led and its now driven 93k total. Still going strong

If they are charging and discharging more frequently thats the logical answer I can think of. But that will happen gradually and with passage of time car will use more fuel and engine bringing the average down. But batteries don't give up so early and I did hear they do start giving an error on the screen when at the end of their life.

Even most of the 2007-2008 2nd gen cars are still running on their original batteries as of today.

These cars have battery life of more than 350k miles.

Okay thanks for prompt response. Anything more I have to check before purchasing a prius. Its 2012 model 3.5 or 4 grade. Registered in 2015 105k on odo.

As its your friends car, you can check how much mileage he is getting. If with aggressive driving he is getting more than 18km/l, then its a strong indication that batteries are working properly. As other user said, batteries last good for 350K.
For quality and comfort, there is no match between city and Prius. Low clearance issue can be resolved in about Rs 2,000 by installing spacers.
Rest defying the "Bhair chaal" need courage, and you have to decide at the end.

Finally, changed the Coolants in my 2011 Prius Alpha for the 1st Time.

Has the same engine & hybrid set up as the Prius 3rd Gen.

Inverter took 2.25 Litres
&
Engine needed 4.0 Litres

You Need 2 Packs for the Job, it comes in 4.0 L Packing

Each Costs around PKR 2,350 from Toyota 7 they Charged PKR 650 for Labour.

Prius operating manual put so much emphasis on Driver's Floor mat and almost made it mandatory to inspect it after every few thousand kilometers. Also following is the list of do and don't in the manual regarding floor mat. Any special thing about Prius floor mats?

I have just purchased a new 2017 Toyota Diagnostic Unit/Genuine Diagnostic tools and I need a few people who are willing to come by and let me see if my diagnostic unit will work on their cars. So far, my diagnostic unit has worked for the latest 2017 Land Cruiser, 2017 Prius JDM models, Lexus CT200h and RX450H, 2006-2017 Passo (KGC30 and M700A), 2010-2017 Pixis Epoch and many other vehicles.

I am using Zic 0w30 and have no issues. If you could find 0w20, go for it, otherwise you can choose between Zic 0w30 or 5w20.
