Insight will always gives u less milage than prius but it has better shape , cheaper , and fun to drive car , better go for Insight as it will be new but prius will have no spare issues , still check auction sheet and verify it

Dear, trust me petrol has sucked my life. I am currently using passo and the best I am getting is 12 km/l since you cant do anything with the traffic.
I just want to make sur that once i get the car, will I be in great loss if I am selling it after two years?

No Prius is a good car and definitely after two years you will be in loss but not gr8 because its Toyota

I guess both cars have their own place as prius is big n insight is small as compared to prius also prius is hybrid synergy drive technology whereas insight is ima so its up to the user choice.. Secondly in 16 lac one can get insight of 2010 model where as prius in this price is of 2007 so model difference n economy difference is there... Prius vs insight is 23 vs 18 so bro think about ur range n then buy it... I m using prius 2008 s10th anniversary i bought it for 1750

A year ago, I bought a passo, already registered for 9 lacs. Kept it in the same condition and now I have offers of 8.50. That means that with a year using, I get to loose only 50 thousand. Of we devide 50k with 365 days, it makes 136 rs each day. This in my opinion is extremely fare.

Now comparing it to prius or insight, which would give me lesser loss and how much loss do we expect

P.S. Insight can never do 25 km/l. He is definitely lying. 15-18 km/l is what Insight can realistically achieve. Prius second generation can achieve anything between 18-22 km/l depending on the condition of the batteries.

A good insight should be between 14.50-15.5 lacs for a 2010 model. 2007 Prius will vary between 15.5 to 16.5 depending on the variant.

So I think going for hybrid cars at this time is just useless. I don't want to hurt feelings of those who have bought it already but considerong the difference in mileage between prius and passo 18 km/l vs 13km/l is roughly 5km/l. Say if each km at this time costs 10rs and I drive 50km a day, 500rs will be passo's petroleum needs and 350 would be prius's. That means difference of 150 rs each day
150rs?365days= 55 thousand

So In reality I would only be saving 50 thouand rupees a year. Instead I can buy some other luxurious car with 13km/l and have never to worry of battery going bad or expensive parts if God forbids there is accident.

But you cant beat one thing that comes with hybrid cars, and that is feeling good fir yourself, protecting enviroment....... if I could afford, I would definatley want to protect the environment

If you drive less than 50 kms daily, then maybe spending a lot more money on Prius or Insight is not justified. But if you drive anything in the region of 200 kms and above daily, a Hybrid card will recover its cost a lot quickly as compared to a non-Hybrid car.

And if you buy a genuine low mileage non-tempered Prius second generation, it will give you 21 plus km/l under any circumstances. Insight low mileage non tempered car will stay close to 17 km/l.

So, the choice is clearly yours. Saloon or a hatch back. Whether you drive a lot on a daily basis, or just a few kms to and from work. This would help you decide.

You are right about the city averages of both car but the price of Insight which you are mentioning is very low , you wont get a clean car in that price , example pic attached

Self-import one from Sharabi and you can have a clean genuine mileage car under the price bracket I quoted above. There are NO genuine cars in the local market, as dealers never import low mileage non-accident cars due to there being very low profit in them. So, you can only get non-tempered cars by self-importing which will also save you money relative to the ongoing price in the local market.

The thing is that driving a 1300-1500cc Insight or 1500-1800cc Prius , they are huge cars , they lie in the different category , their performance , drive , fuel consumption is unmatchable .
For example if you take city a/t against Insight then ,
Insight has a better avg 18 , city does max 12 ,
Insight has better drive
More features
More acceleration
So you basically get more than 5 km/l with Insight , so if the price difference is not really big (Both would cost almost same , 2010 model) so you are saving money How ? On fuel !!,
Basic concept of hybrid is to save fuel
Now people in Pakistan want to pay more one time and save money on fuel which is a daily expense...
So the thing is you can't compare a city or a 1000cc Passo in drive , feel , fuel consumption , So buying a hybrid is not a bad choice...And you will love em....
And a good example is of 1800cc prius , you cant compare is drive , features etc with civic and there is a huge milage difference of 9 vs 21.
Rest depends on the buyer!!

Normal , which you loose in a car , it depends on your purchase price , you may loose on Insight -Civic hybrid but not on Prius
