Toyota Probox from 4WD to 2WD

I have Toyota 1490 Cc Automatic Probox 2006 4WD.

4Wd work automatically, I do not have to engage any gears etc. At 20km/h it is on 4WD later it is automatically transferred to 2WD.

Now I have plans to convert it to 2WD by removing the Shaft.
Is this a good Idea? If its not then what the good idea (H)?
Should I remove the differential and place the other 2WD original rod?

2 reasons

1) 2WD has better consumption (currently the machine has 14.5km /L mileage)
2) 2WD has better resale.

14.5km/l from an auto probox isnt bad at all. Dont expect miracles after removing the drive shaft.

Isn't worth it. IMO 4WD is better. A bonus if you live in hilly areas.

Don't remove the shaft. I heard removing it will increase fuel consumption. I am not sure about it. And you're getting good average

Members have given you good suggestions but if you want to try then only remove the shaft without disturbing anything else so that if the milage doesnt improve you can put it back.

14km/l is very good average for 1500cc car in Pak. (because probax has CVT transmissions hence good fuel economy).
But don’t remove it. Let it be there as it is.

4wd automatic turns on and that’s main issue.
Well, can you find some switch or button to keep it off ? this button is available in many jeeps specially older models. So I guess there must be some switch or button for it too. But never go to remove it.

As far as re-sale is concern. Removing 4wd will bring down cars value when people will know that its original versions comes with 4wd.

Probox/Succeed both had 4 speed automatic transmission CVT was offered after the 2014 facelift
Also im not sure there is a diff lock because this car has full time 4wd
P.S removing the shaft wont make your car sell for more as there's a 4wd sticker on the rear windscreen and chassis no is different
so better leave it as is

dont remove it. it has auto 4wd and engages only when a sensor detects that front wheels are spinning freely,very new technology
