Hello guys! I am totally confused. I've been visiting Toyota and Honda dealerships for the last couple of days and looking for a good minivan. I have a budget of $42,000 and have to buy a minivan. I know I can probably get a good SUV within that range but I am looking for a minivan. The reason why didn't mention other minivans because Sienna and Odyssey are the best minivans out in the market these days and will maintain their position in the market in the coming years. Whatever minivan I buy, it's gonna be the highest trim level.
The reason I am confused is because Honda has changed the Odyssey a little from the back and front (grille) for the 2008 model. But the Sienna has a more luxirious interior. The highest trim level of the Odyssey (Touring) comes pretty loaded with almost everything; it has navigation system, rear-seat entertainment system, 6-disc CD changer and a rear-view camera. The highest trim level of the Sienna (Limited), however, on the other hand, has all these things as optional equipment. But the pricing on Odyssey is higher than the Sienna (without any options). As I said earlier, the Sienna's interior is more luxirious. What I mean by that is that it has wood-and-leather steering wheel and gear shift knob and wood trim in the cabin, which looks pretty good. The Odyssey doesn't offer this kind of trim, even in the Touring model, not standard, not optional. The pricing, however on the Sienna comes close to Odyssey's when you add all these "tecnological" options. The only difference is that Odyssey offers them as standard equipment, while they're optional on the Sienna. I have test-driven both of the vehicles (on roads with snow and without snow) and the drive is pretty much the same. The transmission on the both cars is same (5-speed auto) and the feel the same.
I am really confused which one to get. I think I've done everything I could, by myself to find out which one is best for me but didn't work. Now, you guys are the last place where I could go and ask for your opinions. I would really appreciate it if you people could help me in deciding which one to buy.
