Toyota Vitz 2005 CVT Noise badly

Hi Pakwheels,

I have Toyota Vitz 2005 sports edition(push start).CVT system is producing tuk tuk sound during drive and it's getting noisy.Let me know what to do?I visited Toyota workshops and local gear mechanic.They say CVT gear box can be repaired by replacing Unit something in gear box.

Should i change CVT or repair it?

Brother just drain your gear oil and use genuine CVT oil like that.

Agar phir bhi sound aaye tu gearbox rebuild karna pare ga.

Karachi mein plaza market se ya kisi bhi achi toyota dealership se 1200 rs ka mil jaye ga.

make sure the cvt oil is refilled properly, that is not overfilled, go to a mechanic who really knows what he is doing.....

its a common problem here in Vitz 2005 onwards mainly because of using wrong Transmission oil which results in damaging transmission.
There is guy in Model town Lahore people call him Auto gear specialist. He can easily replace or repair(if its possible) your gear.
There are usually two main parts of Vitz transmission the part which gets damaged mostly will cost you around 16-20k.

Thanks @bradpit, @hashim for quick feedback.Do you think changing unit something in gearbox will be fine? Is there any code for CVT oil? or just normal CVT oil by Toyota?

Actually, when i bought this vitz there was a little noise like gheeen gheen but now it's takk tak tuk
I guess, kixx gear oil was filled in gear i saw when mechanic was using it.

Bhai aap Toyota dealership ya 2S ko dikha kar estimate le lein not cost that much.

Genuine Toyota CVT oil must be used. 4 liter packing costs 4200rs.
Getting the gearbox repaired is not recommended. Kaabli gear will cost you somewhere around 35k.
The buyer must know how to buy in bilal gunj if you are in lahore

dont even try to repair this. Ive been a victim of this in my vitz 06... Replace it!!
inside the CVT gearbox there are plates which are one of the most imp components in it... repairing these plates is of no use.. after some time you will still feel jerks and noises. This issue is very common in Vitz 05+ and Honda City Vario 03-08
