cat converter is for 3 purposes , it reduces the emissions , 2ndly reduces noise , 3rdly it keeps the engine hot in winters for areas where u have heavy snowfalls ! ova here it gets chocked quickly due to poor fuel quality n will indirectly damage ur engine , n in summers will give extra heat to ur engine , so its better to remove it , da only down syd is exhaust will be a bit noisy dats it ! better throttle response as well if u remove it

After alot of research i have found out that no vitz after 2005 gives more than 10km\l in city, it gives great economy on highway upto 18km\l easily, those people who do not own toyota vitz shouldn't claim anything and as for those people who do, if they are getting more than 10km\l then firstly they are really lucky, secondly their driving style matches that of highway i.e if your driving in islamabad or lahore, its not typical city traffic, its just like driving on highway. But for people in smaller cities like abbottabad or any other city in Pakistan with conjusted roads it is guaranteed you wont get average above 10km\l even if you drive calmly without rapid acceleration.
So for all my brothers on pakwheels, if you want to buy vitz, it is no doubt a wonderful car but it is not fuel efficient.

^^ exactly wht i said eariler , it doesnt get any better thn dat but for its comfort n driving pleasure its worth it mine gives 10 in psh urban driving n 14-15 in isl urban driving

I've vitz 2008...it easily gives 15-17 Km/h in Islamabad with full A/C I take fuel from reputable pumps..using 70/30 of high octane/super....with regular periodic service from Toyota capital. Recently I changed its fuel filter/plugs/CVT fluid

Cat is also removed and middle dholki in the silencer is added to avoid the noise. You can check my thread...

..Islamabad is less dusty that could be a reason of good fuel economy and mostly pumps sell good quality fuel here...also condition of roads are better

Abbotabad is a hilly area. A small car with 1000 CC engine requires more fuel to go up hills than a 1300 cc engine.

I have a passo 07 that has exactly same engine as vitz. My ISB city average is around 15-16. But i recently went to hilly areas and average dropped to 11. Whereas my brother had latest model GLI and his average was better then my car on hilly roads.

remember to change the CVT fluid at half the recommended time if you are climing hills with it, the CVT fluid gets incredibly hot when the car is working hard.

brother empty the petrol tank and then use high octane for 10 litre ur car will 100% improve japanes car very high compression engine and also clean ur fuel injector with ultrasonic machine and keep air filter claean also.

Replace the car dontnow whts up wth these fresh import cars.Own 1 aswell and its giving 6 7kms max yet got it checked frm many places.replaced gear oil plugs fuel etc throtle serviced twice thrice still the same

I own a Vitz 2006 myself..... I was getting 8Km/L.... no fault in computer. Don`t waste ur time changing oil filter etc
First and foremost thing to do is remove CAT Converter Immediately
Car will start giving Noise........ install a bigger Muffler (Dholki) and exhaust will become noise free
I did it and my Mileage is 15km/L........... I think the simple and best thing for 2005 Onward models of Vitz
If ur mileage is still the same then go for spark plugs and tires change

anyone who says their mileage is above 13 in city is full of BS....
they dont know how to calculate mileage properly.....or the fuel quality is total **** in pakistan

I have done lots of experiment, with several cars....
My dads xli 1330cc 2nz-fe (just 16k mileage) gives 11.7 mileage, and he drives from defence, clifton which have less traffic..

i bought vitz u pac first week of jan. it carries 185 15 inches of stock rims unlike the ordinarey one. initially what i calculated it gave me to be precise 12.5 km/l in city and that was without aircon but with sensible low acceleration pedal within 2000rmp.:$the next thing i did is filled the empty tank with 1000rs of hi octane patrol. used it with full pedal for a while and consume it all until the tank indicated the blinking indication of tank fuel at end. again refiled it with 1000 rs premier grade patrol@103.3 per/liter that gave me about 9.68 litre of fuel. tripped the meter to zero and again with low rpm maintenance without giving unnecessary pedal it gave me 154 km before it started blinking fuel gauge. what i calculated it gave me 15.90kkm/l in city without a/c. and that pretty good i believe try it it will make a difference, what i observe red.
