Oil grade n timely change between 5000-6000 kms oil filter change. Cooling system be in perfect order

Use toyota long life coolant

only if the system have a working thermostat valve automatic fans and radiator cap working the expensive toyota coolant is good, alternatively economical CALTEX premix is fine.

clean radiator, clean expansion tank, working radiator cap, automatic fans and a working thermostat valve. Caltex premix coolant is not pricy to buy.

Gear transmission is not working fine. We start the car, it picks the gear but after the few steps it give up. We switch off the engine, start the car again, gear works but after a few steps it again loses life. Can you specify what could be the reason behind?

gear box oil has to be changed between 60 -75000 kms. When did you changed in your vehicle.?

If it was never changed in your vehicle 1st goto some workshop get the vehicle scanned. If there are error codes related to transmission, as in solenoid malfunction. etc change the gear box oil aka transmission fluid and test drive vehicle.

gear box oil or transmission oil? are they both same?

Well have changed the fluid regularly between 50-55000 kms, last done in August'20. According to mechanic pressure plates are already week. Which i can personally feel resulting in late gear shifting and sometimes with a "jhatka gear change" but today all of a sudden it loses life. Can't understand this sudden behavior.
I recently had engine overhaul, maybe some fitting error could be?

After engine over haul for how long the vehicle operated without such fault.
any error in installation will result in immediate problems for drivability.

overhauling done on Friday, car was on test drive till 2 days, today when i taking the delivery it happened.

go back to workshop remove transmission. Visual inspection can verify if the torque converter is intact & drive shaft splines are uniformly even. If shaft splines are uneven and slipped to become oval it was installation fault the workshop is responsible. shaft can be sourced & replaced from a yard item.
