Automatic transmission should be checked as a rule by getting the engine hot by driving the car for at least 15 minutes and going through all the gears and when the engine is still running, the oil should come up to the hot level. The cold marker in not for measuring, its just to indicate that under any circumstances when the engine is cold it should never fall below that mark.

The total quantity of ATF for Vitz upto 2004 is 3.0 L but it again depends how your car was serviced.

the dip-stick of the transmission fluid in my 2002 vitz has a sticker on it that says that transmission fluid does not need to be replaced under normal driving conditions and the user manual states that the drain interval of transmission fluid is 96000 km. all of you guys getting the transmission fluid changed, are you sure you need to do so.

how can I improve following things in new shape vitz;

1) fuel consumption (10km per litre in city, no high rpm, no traffic jams)...
2) Pick-up (very poor)
3) ground clearance (current rims are 14") should I get 15" rims or packing in shocks ?

My car is only 22k km done...

i think fuel consumption is good and auto tranny does have less mileage than manual IMO
Mine gives 9 kms/ltr in karachi's traffic jams and On ODOmetre it's just 20k kilometres

2) auto trannies have less pick up dunno y that's y i usually drive on S rather than D and B

3) dont get spacers cux it will decrease ur grip or whatever...i've installed 15" rims and 195/55 tyres & yuh can go for 195/60 or 195/65 and there is no rubbing or scratching down on the famous paki's breathtaking speadbreakers

Bro plz highlight the system u've got with original dvd player (amps etc)... I hav a similar looking NDDN W56, do u hav its manual or something as m unable to use its controls, tune TV and radio channels, use navigation etc...
Doesnt it hits bumps cause of basetube etc, mine hits with empty trunk...

before vitz i owned honda civic vti oriel manual 5 speed..

so im new to this CVT gear tranny too but whatever i knw im sharing

D = Drive
S = Sport (higher revs) / third gear tops
B = Braking (engine breaking) / second gear tops

It increases the use of the engine braking,Since this CVT has no gears to manually choose from, you need this to adapt to the individual situation

and for personal experience to feel the difference b/w these gear drives

stick shift in D and drive at 40-50kmph in minor traffic/less traffic road
than shift it to S and B as u shift down u 'll gradually and respectively feel the difference in the drive on trio gears

i did 145kmp/h on B haha lol my dad scolded me he was siitting next to me he was like are u mad or what insane kid slow it down...and it was the first day he gave me the keys of this fantastic Car lol

i: head unit is stock JDM ND3T-W54 (cd,dvd,md) and the output is awesome than any other after market HU IMO *!! just required to connect RCA adapter for amp output leads

ii: amplifier is kinda BM-699 korean,sub is pioneer 307-D4 12"
iii: rear 6x9 4 way soundstream speakers (dunno the country made)
iv: front stock speakers didn't want to change output was kewl

if from abuv ^^ u mean hitting speedbumps or ground rubbing so about this i mentioned earlier that mine doesn't hit any bump or any kinda ground rubbing cux im using 15" rims and tyres im in peace

if u are asking about vitz than last blinking bar contains approxly 6 to 7 litres and this is my rough estimate a/c to me dunno about other if it is incorrect thn i humbly apologize duunno about any reserve portion let's wait for the experts to comment on this

for gud pickup drive on B yuh will feel the change,
but rumours had it "dont drive on B for too long" cux it's related to engine braking and it can heat up or damage the engine :S i'm not a risk taker lol but i drive on B when i got least traffic or wheneva i'm in yiddiyadda mood

Driving conditions in Pakistan are way sub-normal and Toyota itself recommends changing the ATF (upto model 2004, not the CVT) every 40,000kms otherwise you're highly vulnerable for the permanent damage.
You can confirm this info by surfing any reliable Toyota forums !

^ according to my calculation its 5 liters, the tank is around 40L, with 10km/Liter, if my ride goes around 350-360 its more or less, 35L consumed, then the bar blinks, over all tank, pipes, fuel lines, should make it 5-7 liters.

S = third gear tops / middle One
no matter how far u go on accelerator the CVT "continuously variable transmission" remains in THIRD GEAR TOPS

B = second gear tops / less smoother and more powered

u can feel the grinning and power unleashing from the engine same about accelerator & CVT thingy no matter how far u go with accelerator it will remain in second gear tops

B is likely used when coming down on hills cux braking is mostly needed to prevent from slippering around the corner that is y it's called ENGINE BRAKING and referred it as B

i will help yer if the navigation unit is same as mine ND3T-W54 but as u've told earlier u got NDDN smthing...so it would have different functions in my opinion...can u show me the pic of ur HU so i can have an idea and help u to any extent if i can (A)
