Hey PW Gurus!!I have recently bought Vitz end 2007 (990 cc) new shape (wooden interior, fog lights, side mirror retraction on lock/ unlock, reverse driving sensors and distance calculation on central mirror) from Islamabad but I have shifted to Lahore soon after for my new job. Would anyone be kind enough to help me out with the following:

1. Read a lot about engine knocking at PW and so filled one fourth of the tank with HOBC but knocking yet to vanish. I keep on reducing speed to lower the gear. Please advise as to why other JDM cars have no such issues on local low octane petrol and what I need to do?

2. I am using D for normal drive. Need clarity regarding usage of S and B gears.

3. I drove from Isloo to Lhr via motorway on tank full and later drove within Lhr to reach a trip tally of 505 Kms so far and two bars still remains. Do I need to get spark plugs, throttle body, timing belt, sensors etc worked out / replaced? If yes, what model of denso iridium spark plugs are suitable for my car?

4. How may I figure out its transmission type i.e. CVT or AT? and what transmission oil should I use? what are the signs to get it changed? By the way what would be the best engine oil?

5. It makes a noisy start with an abnormal odour from exhaust? What needs to be taken care of?

6. It Navg. / DVD seems useless so far. I have been able to listen to FM or have used aux cable for music from my cell phone, any software to get its CD / DVD option working?

Last but not the least, what would be the best place to get the works done mentioned under point 01 through 06? Many thanks in anticipation

I was looking for Vitz for a cousin but couldn't find any in 1300cc category ... Lets see. We'll start off with Isb market. What is the authenticity of auction sheets and grade thingy ? I heard all the sheets are tempered and remade here in Pak .. How to tell ? ...

Sir in OEM CD player CPK-W55 Pioneer, I installed the USB with FM radio in place of Cassette player as its obsolete now and also got Line input jack to connect the mobile phone from a local car audio shop near Link Road, Lahore for Rs. 800/= . Everything works fine and I can even attend the phone calls on car speakers now

Can you check if they have a W57 with Radio, DVD, USB, AUX, MP3 working? Whats the cost?

Salam friends...yesterday i met with one pakwheel subscriber who upload vitz 2005 with CNG. he told me that his vitz is great in both CNG and Petrol...he told me further that there is nothing in my car but if you want to buy this one you will have to replace the compressor as it is not working...so my question is, kindly any one tell me that what would be the cost for new (best quality) compressor? and will it be work?

I would like to answer your questions 2 & 4
2) Use D for normal Driving. S stands for "Sports" mode, it is used for faster acceleration, it limits the car's computer to select lower gears, hence quicker acceleration. This is used for upward steep slopes, or for fun, or racing etc. Obviously your car will consume more fuel if you select S. Therefore, try to use "D" as much as possible, to get better fuel economy. Even for the regular slopes you see in Pakistani cities D is fine, unless you are going up on steep hilly roads like Murree etc.
B stands for Brake (or more precisely "engine Braking"). If you select B, it improves braking of the car, particularly when you are coming down on a downward slope/hilly area.

4) Your car's gear pattern indicate that you are having a CVT gear system. And for this gear system use only Toyota's CVT-TC gear oil. NEVER EVER use regular AT oil.

perfectly normal mileage bro !

smell is normal most probably catalyst removed from ur exhaust sys !

its cvt n cvt oil changed recommended at 40k kms but ill suggest to change it at 35k km !

to be on safe syd , clean throttle body plugs n check its belts n get brake service done n ur gud to go

catalyst can't be removed, as i am its first owner in Pak. Well, some people say its life time oil as these cars are advance, is it so? secondly do u suggest flushing engine with liquimoly? Some ppl highly recommend it before oil change some say it damages engine's rubber seals. lastly, do you know which model of denso iridium plugs should I use? lastly again :p, though I guess u r in psh, can u suggest a good place for such jobs in Lhr?

No lyf tym oils do change it n get its transmission filter cleaned

no idea abt flushing thingy ill say ask a professional

@ahmad_yar, Ahmad bhae, OEM recomended plugs are DENSO SK20HR-11 They cost around Rs.1150 each, But they are good for atleast 90,000kms.

Considering show shah their are lots and lots of things avalible for Vitz or Yaris, Just go thru Ebay and find things for it, Youll find too many things, Now depends on what are you looking for.

BTW Mudflaps are a decent add on, Ithink the OEM ones arent avalible localy a copy is made but the size is different doesnt fits well. If you find that you should purchase that.

Starting to regret why i sold Mine . I have the software CD of NDDN-W56 navi,
i have not tested it, cz i have W55,
i think it should work on any W56,
if anybody wants in isb, pindi, he can collect the software from me for free.

jazakallha for info, oem mud flaps inshallha will get from hong kong, about spark plugs if their life is 90,000 km than i think i dont need right now as mine just used 26k till now
will also get some makeup stuff from here ( polishes, sealants, waxes :))
inshallha next buy would be nice shoes (rims )

once u recive this kit tell me i will guide you best use of clay bar to get max outcomes

yes on my return inshallha will bring car to toyota 3s for gear oil change as well as cleaning plugs etc
