Which of them we have here in Pakistan ?? I know 1.0 engine is 1KR-FE .. what about others

To be honest we only know that the 1.0L is 1krFE others are random , the first two ones have the difference of 2WD and AWD and has the airfilter box like 99-04 Vitz/Platz, The third one can be i guess identified with a engine cover like Corolla 08+

@ahmad_yar, Ahmad bhae, OEM recomended plugs are DENSO SK20HR-11 They cost around Rs.1150 each, But they are good for atleast 90,000kms.

Considering show shah their are lots and lots of things avalible for Vitz or Yaris, Just go thru Ebay and find things for it, Youll find too many things, Now depends on what are you looking for.

BTW Mudflaps are a decent add on, Ithink the OEM ones arent avalible localy a copy is made but the size is different doesnt fits well. If you find that you should purchase that.

Ouch, i inquired from EBAY around decemeber they varied btwn 18-33 USD, Couldnt get them $18 was okay with me, But $2600 na baba, il get my car serviced everyday rather

why not use good quality local replicas of mud-flaps ? After all its an exterior add-on of tertiary importance, not a critical mechanical component.

^ Using them is useless, You have to make holes in the bumper, (previus ones has a metal rear lower bumper and it was a paint, mud keeps going in and gets rust,

The OEM ones go on orignal screw spaces, How the front ones of the local copies fit quiet okay,

there is some device called Frequency shifter..it cost around 100Rs from Bilal Gunj lahore... after installing it u can listen to all FM stations...it shifts frequency 18Mhz ahead...mean if u tune at 88.2 then u able to listen 106.2

Unfortunately every where in the world where ever japanease car is imported this problem happens. You require a FM radio band extender. I do not know if it is available in Pakistan but people on internet talk about it a lot. Check this link for details:

This link states:

"FM Band Expanders are used in Japanese import cars, as the radios installed in Japan have a frequency band different to the rest of the world - Japan uses the 76-90Mhz radio range and the international FM band covers 88MHz to 108MHz."

As people do not encourage it's use (I do not know why, may be because of it's cost) you can buy a new radio.

1 kr is 3 cylinder of which u already know !

2nz fe comes in 1.3 4wd variant non cvt transmission , same engine as a corolla x 1.3 2005 shape !

2sz fe comes in 1.3 2wd cvt variant ! luks wise engine same as 1.0 1szfe u get in 04 vitz !

How does a layman know FOR SURE that a certain vitz is CVT or non-CVT ??
Is it written anywhere on the car itself ?? or any visible sign ??

^ The gear box in a CVT goes like P/R/N/D/S/B, In a auto it goes like P/R/N/D/3/2/1 or P/R/N/D/2/1 (with over drive on/OFF)

You see the reason why i ask this is that as car manufacturers clearly write on the exterior certain engine features like VVTI, vti, VTEC, I-VTEC etc or
even writting transmissions like Prosmatic, Steermatic, A/T etc etc which is a good thing.
Similarly, Why not clearly mention CVT so that no confusion is there for the selection of correct transmission oil etc.

Well this is the draw back of buying used car, that you have to live with includes no manufacture service back up.

You can always check the chasis code and verify is coupled transmission online, All transmissions also have a code. Just like the engine does you would need to check that aswell.

Besides all this the only way to check is the Patern if its PRND21 or PRNDSB.

Still lets wait for someone else reply,

PS: Steermatic is simply CVT with steering gears no rocket science.
Prosmatec is automatic with out jerks, All Toyota autmatics dont jerk at all, Hondas had a huge jerk at gear change before 2001

So basicly its just manual, Auto and CVt
