Depends on which 1.3 you have, 1.3 comes both in 2WD and AWD, the 2WD version (2SZFE) comes with CVT while the AWD (2NZFE) comes with conventional auto gear box. First check which version you have before getting the oil.

Vitz 1KRFE (1.0L), 2NZFE(1.3L), 2SZFE(1.3L) have the same K-410 transmission, it can be further verified from the sticker on pessenger side front seat piller.

Exactly! Good thread. That is the thread but some say its not necessary to open the sump as the oil gets drained anyways when you open up the sump drain bolt and the drain tube.

Sump is recessed beyond drain point, so complete oil within the sump (around 500ml) wouldn't drain, and this wouldn't be an issue since additional 2.5ish liters is still up in transmission too and is meant to be so.
Around 300ml from the sump can still be drained by jacking up the car from behind (that's what i did :P).

Toyota dealership were asking for PKR 2,000 for supplies + 2,000 labor after opening the sump. I got it done in 300 from my own mechanic without opening the sump.

Exactly, ... after that when you jack the car up, additional 300ml drain out. Did that last weekend.

i might be wrong but from what i have read and heard my opinion were based on that, since you are owner of the one you would be knowing more.

On both the posts people are suggesting that 2SZFE is the 2WD and 2NZFE is the 4WD secondly it is also suggested that 2NZFE is non CVT thus recomended for CNG usage while 2SZFE is not recomended for CNG usage because of CVT ... even i am confused now

Slightly Off the Topic i would like to add little more info Regarding 2WD and 4WD I own a Toyota IST which Comes with 2NZFE and its Chasis Serial is NCP60 However There is Another Variant which Comes with 1NZFE 1.5L this one comes in Both 2WD and 4WD the Difference can only be Determined by The Chasis Serial for 2WD it is NCP61 and for 4WD it is NCP65 Hence i believe its not the Engine code to look for its best to Know which Chasis Series it is !!About changing Transmission i agree with tyreone_40 would,nt allow to open up the sump and ending up replacing gasket O ring !!

Today i unintentionally removed the Battery of my Vitz 1.3L, then after cleaning the Battery terminals i reconnected it, here comes the Problem when i started the car the Engine Starts vibrating in Idling mode & the RPM has reduced to 500RPM, I am sure the ECU computer has been reset & it needs retuning.

Now tell me how the best place in ISB who have this Computer facility for Vitz

No issue. First you just need to drive the car around for awhile until the ECU re-learns and sets the RPM accordingly and the vibration will stop.

No; as far as I know you don't. Unnecessary waste of money. Just drive around for awhile and it will set everything accordingly. If after that there is excessive vibration then you can have the car scanned.

Well i think you will need to visit a Toyota 3S dealer to retune the ecu i have seen a new corolla which was standing at home for longer time and its battery drained they tried to restart it with a charged battery it did started but with some vibrations and constant jerking while driving they had to tune it up from Dealership ! Well its just my Assumption however if i were you I will Never Take a risk for saving some Bucks ...

I wanted to ask which spark plugs should i use for my vitz 04, we bought that car dec 2006 but gave it to my aunty, she hardly drove it 45k kms in 6 months, i will share the photos to. Add me the club i have read almost 150 pages of this forum and loving it, it made me remove my CAT converter today..and tell me about its correct gap aswell as i remember. i would love to see "storm" replying me....cause my car used to hit 160 km/h back in 07 and now when i tried to check its top speed it is hardly reaching 138, 140 km/h.
P.S My car is on petrol never driven on cng ever

you meant to say 6 years, not 6 months,

do share your experience after removing the CAT. I removed that 5 years ago when I bought my vitz, and I am still not sure if it made any difference or if i did the right thing. the good news is that I haven't faced an issue because of it (except the guild of hurting the environment)

as far as top speed and performance is concerned, it depends on a number of factors, I am listing some in no particular order

• tires (size, condition, pressure, alignment)
• filters
• engine oil (viscosity and condition): I use 5w-30 or 5w40 fully synthetic oils as recommended by the manufacturer, regardless of what people here tell me. using thicker oil will make a noticeable decrease in performance and economy

as far as plugs are concerned, I used ngk platinum plugs, i couldn't notice any difference in performance or FE, but they were like new when I eventually changed them after using 60,000 km in more than 4 years
