Okay, I need your help here, sorry for not searching through all the 430 pages for the info:)

My friend just got a '10 Vitz yesterday in Silver with 16,000 on ODO ( Reversed for sure).
It was my first time driving a Vitz and it makes a " grrrrr" sound when driving, which I am sure is normal for CVT's.

So, tomorrow, me and him will go to Toyota and get this done, please add more things to the list if you can!;
a) Oil change+ filter
b) Air filter
c) Engine Tune-up, spark plugs will be replaced if needed
d) CVT oil change- Toyota 4ltr Tin pack right?
e) Wheel balancing and alignment.
That's it right?
If anyone can tell me an estimate for all the above points, that would be great, my friend is kinda money conscious and I forced him to take the car to Toyota, despite their blood sucking charges.
Btw, it has an awesome drive, I just hate the CVT noise and ground clearance:(

I will take pictures tomorrow, so everyone here can have an idea how everything is done.

It comes when the car accelerates, which I can bet is normal due to CVT.
15-17,000??? Friend will get heart attack tomorrow 9am lol. Well, we could get CVT fluid changed from Toyota and the rest done from outside, han?

Cvt makes no sound as Grrr , it doesn't make that sound on mine wd cvt!

Then u might save 2~4 k maybe. I think the cvt fluid alone costs around 4k then while changing they are going to clean stuff too so labour charges. Oil change plus filters will cost u around 4k. Spark plugs will cost around 2500 plus etc etc.

And the sound you mentioned is maybe of knocking like krrrr. Cvt does not make any sound. Vitz engine makes a growling sound though.

I have the same model and colour as your friend's..
Here is the estimated cost if you get all the things done from toyota...
a. Depends on what oil you ask them. There oils range is from 2100rs-3470rs. Oil filter is around 1200.
b. Air filter is 2350rs. Yes.. "2350". Genuine filter from outside costs 1050rs.
c. Engine tuning is 700rs and you must get your throttle body cleaned that costs 1500rs.
d. CVT oil was 4700 but now around 5500. Labour would be around "3000-4000".
e. No idea how much they will charge you for that.
Its sums up to around 18000rs.

Here are some suggestions. Ask them to use Petron Plus engine oil i.e 10w30 costs 2400. For my own car i'm using 05w30 which costs 3470. Never ever use 20w50 oil as i had a bad experience with that. It made the acceleration slower and was consuming more fuel.
Go to Toyota and ask them to open the cvt box situated next to the oil filter box. Open it just a little bit to see the colour of cvt oil. If its red then you dont have to change it. If its kinda brown or a bit blackish then change it. I did the same and mechanic said its as good as new. My car had 41000 on odo.
Get your brakes serviced. Costs 600 from Toyota and 300 from outside.
If ground clearance is a huge problem for you then use packing in rear shocks. I do not recommend it though. Other better option is to replace the tyres from 165-70-14 to 185-70-14.

Exactly, My Vitz also dnt make any sound like grrr or krrr, But it Roars on other PKDMs. Like a Lion.

In fact, Toyota did not even change the CVT oil- They just refused. What I was told was to get it done from outside as they did mess up a CVT transmission once lol.

So, what was done to the car? Oil change+ filter, Engine tuning and that's it.

Genuine Oil filter- 1350 Rupees.
Tuning- 850 + 150 carb cleaner

Owner wasn't happy with the bill, but was happy with the performance. I took Rickshaw home since they were busy with their own stuff and I got kinda annoyed since I had many errands to do and well, their " 2 hours " turned out to be about 4 hours!
They later proceeded to check the CVT fluid from some outside mechanic, according to him, they loosened ONE bolt and they saw a reddish fluid- So it was fine.

Toyota guys put 20w-50 oil in a vitz 2010? They should have put 5w-30 or 5w-40 in it. Take note and next time put right grade oil.

Really ?? I never knew 20w-50 was for farigh engines.. BTW what does that 20w 50 stands for ? and why do World class oil manufaturers like Mobil / liqui Moly etc even make 20w - 50 oils ?

Oil companies all over the world cater different customers needs- The older the engine, the thicker the oil. Brand new engines can run on very thin oils, I personally use 5w-40 and I love it!
