thanx dear... I already saw this above mentioned thread in the morning and it worked..... I took my vitz to workshop and told the mechanic there to open that part and clean it.... after refixing it, I disconnected the -ve terminal of battery and now Eco system of my vitz is working.... further the pick of my car has also increased may be becoz the part mentioned was too dirty and the magnet portion was having layers of dust...

As far as oil grade is concerned, i agree 5w30 is the most recommended oil for vitz. Few months ago, i also did some research on it and finally get 5w30 is the best for vitz. But as i m in Lahore, and here temperature rises to 45 C easily, and goes to 50 C in peak times. So my findings are, 45C outside + engine heat, rises the temperature to very high level easily. We need different grade oil for summers, so in winters i used 5w30 and for summers i opted 5w40. Believe me the difference is noticeable, after pouring 5w40 car is smooth and accelerate very easily with AC. Do try it.
I m not using any High Octane right now, filling the whole tank only and only from Attock Pump located in liberty, their fuel quality is very high, perfect for JDM cars, i didn't feel any kind of knocking from their fuel. Give it a try as well.

About the engine oils, if you talk about winters, both oils will perform same in winters as both are 5w. If you drive your car with 4/5 persons on board and driving aggressively in winter then its gonna get as hot as it does in summers with normal driving and vice versa..
Meaning you dont have to shift again to 5w30 again in winters. Just keep using 5w40 if you are satisfied with the performance and fuel consumption. I wouldn't change the oil type unless it gives me more protection, more fuel economy and acceleration disregard of the temperature outside.
I think the best oil in 5w40 category is Zic XQ 05w40. At every oil change i do consider getting it but i just dont.. Waiting for your reply regarding the fuel economy and i will go for it as 05w40 is supposed to be more protective then 05w30 for a car i.e driven more than 60 or 70k.
And yes.. changing oils type frequently is a very bad idea.

I keep checking the oil level every week and i just checked it. The level is just a bit lower than the full mark though i have poured some more oil in it. It has been driven 4000kms on 5w30 toyota oil.
If you are looking fir genuine zic oil them go to their website and order it online. They do home delivery.
Going to filter house near my home as they have a good reputation of selling genuine oils.

Caltex Havoline is 5w40 Rs 2900 for 4.0L

Looks like your car met an accident and its airbags are deployed. You can get the bulb of this light removed to remove this light.

Try getting it scanned and look for the issue, a broken strip clock spring can cause this too

Dear one of my friends had the same problem in his Corolla G.... the solution was tat tgere was some problem in the sensor due to a fault in the steering which activated the light.... if u r in lhr then there is a workshop in Chauburji for the electrical check up.... go to them and IA ur prob will b solved

Where do you live? If in Lahore, go to Hall road and you will find everything that you need. I do not know much about Vitz 2000 as mine is 2010 but everything is available. If you see the picture, he has installed a dvd player in the same place. But as this car's interior is not designed to watch a dvd video as the place is too low. You can do one more thing though. The place between the centre air throwers can be used to install an audio pre alongwith an external lcd which you can install on the dashboard. Rockmars is a brand that sells an audio pre that supports external lcd and camera. I am going to Hall road tomorrow and i will ask the shopkeepers how can you get a rearview camera installed in your Vitz.

You can also buy a back view mirror which has integrated screen and video input cables. When you reverse the gear, you would be able to see the rearview camera video in it..

I went to Hall road and showed the picture to several shops. All of them recommended to go to Bilal ganj as many vitz owners bring this panel from there to get the dvd player installed.
Unfortunately i have never been there and don't kbow where to find it. However, i have asked one of my friend to look for this whenever he goes there next time. He visits that place every week.

Bro, i'm getting 630-660 per tank in my Vitz.
I'm using kixx 5-40.
Previously, i was using kixx 10-40 and the max i got was 570.
As you have researched a lot, should i go for 0-40 for more Average as now im getting around 15-16 km/L.

amazing average, please continue with 5w40, no need of 0w40, 0 grade oils are basically for extreme cold regions like Sweden etc.

I went to Filter house today and asked the guy to check the engine oil condition if it needs to be changed. He checked and said you can drive it about 1500kms more without any problem as the oil cindition is very good. Its Toyota genuine oil tin pack 5w30 and i have driven it 5000kms in this hot summer with ac on.
With last tank i got 14.86kms/litre.
Average of ahsankhalid is really amazing. I'm gonna definitely try Kixx 5w40 next time.
One more question... What does it mean when engine is consuming engine oil? Mean after 1 or 2k kms the oil level is a bit low? Does it mean the engine us weak or what? No smoke though.

Yup....if the engine is consuming oil upto quarter liter after every 2000kms den go for slightly thicker oil if 5w then go for 10w.
If it doesn't help or consumption is.more than the above mentioned then ur piston rings are weak. Replace them immediately otherwise it will effect rest of the engine.
One more thing u must do, this time when u go for oil change, flush the engine with liqui moly's engine.flush. They will drain the used oil, den put that one litre tin can of flush in engine and run the engine for ten minutes....n den drain that liquid. U will c the difference

About switching from 5w to 10w wont make a difference as they both will perform the same when engine is up and running. I think switching from 5w30 to 5w40 would be a good choice.. what u say?
About the oil consumption,This oil has been driven around 5000kms and few days ago the oil level was dropped few milimeters from the full oil point. I poured about 0.3litres in it and it was normal again. Here is the question.. If the engine is in perfect condition and i use 5w30 oil and drive my car in this hot weather with ac on most of the time and i travel on the motorway with 5 persons on the board occasionally and in Lahore traffic, will the oil level drop after 5000kms or not?
About the engine flushing, how much is that 1litre tin?
