People can you tell me how to avoid knocking in second generation vitz. I have 2006, it's driven 150k. I have tried everything from hi octane fuel, engine cleaners and fully synthetic mobilone and liquimoly oils but no success. My car knocks very badly now like when I accelerate the knocking sound comes continuously and is increasing day by day.

Injector are replaced in extreme car of leaking have work on this engine a lot and knocking in 100k odo is very common on 1krfe

Just wondering if anyone has done this mod to their 1kr-fe vitz? Some of the international members have bought a plastic hose (similar to the one that comes on the 1.0 passo) and routed it to the front left of the radiator (Yellow piping shown) where there is a slot for air to enter the engine bay (red rectangle). This means the engine is getting cool air directly from the front of the car rather than the air intake being inside the hot engine bay.

A good way to get cooler air but you might loss lower end torque because of dense air having more mass and your engine having 2 valve for inlet on high revs you will have better torque

Salam guys. need suggestion for tyres. i have Vitz 1.0 2007. current tyres are Nexen CP661 185/65/14 they are worn out. i need to change tyres i am going for 175/70/14 and in that size i have found Nexen CP661 (same model i have). are Nexen good choice moreover in this size can i find other tyre like Yokohama A Drive?
