Guys need some assistance,

My vitz 2006 which i just got a few months back has developed an issue with its gear box.
some time when i start to push the throttle pedal, the car stagnates at one speed i-e it stays at one speed but the engine revs start to climb as if the Transmition has been set to neutral. i check yesterday and the gear oil needs replacement , i took it to Toyota but they said they the gear box needs replacement and replacing the oil will not buy me time it will make things worse.
any comments .

and if there is a need for replacement can you guys suggest a good mechanic for the replacement in Karachi since it is my first experience with an automatic. need help

I havnt faced an issue of this nature as of yet. But I would recommend you changing gear oil first and analyse the situation and since when changing gear oil and getting your gear box serviced does more harm. This is an insane logic given to you by 3s.

as other member had mentined this is due to carbon in stick. i had same issue. i have a trusted electrician who did check fuses and came to conclusion that it was carbon. opened the casing around switch and cleaned it. there was no need to open the stick as well.

what happens if you lift your foot slightly and then accelerate a bit, does that help? CVT accelerates differently it sounds like that engine is producing a lot of power and car is not translating that power to speed. does that happen or what ever you do you stay at same speed??

Existing 14" Rims are 5" wide. The newer 16" will be 6" wide. Tyre will be 195/50 R16.

Existing 14" Rims are 5" wide. The newer 16" will be 6" wide. Tyre will be 195/50 R16.

Bro it will be a burden on vitz. The acceleration will decrease plus you will get bad fuel economy and in the long run you will ruin your suspension. You can go with 15" inch light weight lenso rims with 185 profile.

On chakri, I stopped at mechanic, he told me that the front CAT (the silver sheet where oxygen sensor is fixed)is chowked n need to be taken out. I m not in a favor to remove CAT.

Although, I didn't listen to him and hardly bring the car to pindi on 40 speed. Any thoughts what's wrong with car.

Please recommend me any good and reliable workshop in pindi.

Yes same happened with me..... And the cause was choked CAT... If u r in pindi than get it replaced from 'Cha Sultan'

I m using tyre size 165/70 R14 in my vitz 07. I need to change the tyres, so plz suggest the tyre size and brand....

That method is useless ... It's better you replace it from scrap market .

I have a 1krfe 1000cc 2008 Vitz. Yesterday i visited Faisalabad and noticed that on the motorway it was struggling to cross 150kmph mark... Previously it used to touch 170... The car is not used much... its driven once a week. While going i drove at 120kmph and the average it gave was around 18 and while coming back it gave close to 22kmpl average and i kept it between 90 and 100... Ive got it tuned up and computer has also been checked. Nothing is wrong with the car. The catalytic converter is also fine. I use Caltex regular petrol (F7 Company operated pump). It reaches 140 quite quickly but after that it struggles. The last time i drove it at 170 was over a year ago so i dont remember exactly how much time it took to reach 170... Is it normal for a 1000cc 3cyl vitz to take time after it reaches 150?
I didnt pushed it for more than 30 seconds coz i thought that something might happen... RPM was at 4500 at 140kmph and it took around 10 to 20 seconds to reach 150kmph... At 130kmph the RPM is around 3500...

Last year while coming back from Lahore it gave an average of 24kmpl and i drove it at 90kmph at 1500 rpm... So mileage is pretty good and doesnt needs a lot of power if its under 100.
And ABS is also not working... The person who checked it said that the sensors are okay but there is some problem in wires or the pump... Didnt had much time so i told him that ill bring it some other day.

I got it tuned up in January, 2016 and changed oil and air filter... I use Zic A. The guy said that all sensors were working and the transmission oil level is also okay and even transmission oil sensors were good.
Transmission oil was changed 20k kms ago.

In this they have given 15 inch rims and the tyre size mentioned on driver side door sticker is 185/60/R15 but ive put 185/65/R15 so that ground clearance is more. AC is quite chilly even at 26 degrees (Climate control goes till 18 Degrees) Heated seat is really good during winters... the mileage is good... Im only worried about the 150 mark... In last 3 years it has done 20k Kms so this would show how much its used.

No. Its a Custom U Package. Has heated seats, climate control, U package Seats are different from all other Vitz models... Has extended bumpers and 15 inch rims are given in this instead of 14 inch... Its has 185/65/R15 size tyres which is mentioned on the driver side door sticker... Everything is stock.

U package now only comes in 1300 vitz
And don't worry about 150 mark...get your plugs checked and filters and throttle body cleaned.
