Aslam Aliakum.My Vitz 2014 New Shape is giving averge of 21-22km/L on Highway...Alhumdulilah..Even my brother's mirage is giving 22-24.
I Already had Aqua ..It used to give same average but a bit more with soft pedal...I could not understand the purpose of buying Hybrid Cars!Can Anyone elaborate?

It's because you drive at 80-100km/h with soft foot so its average good.
Now you don't drive everytime on highway when mostly you are in city driving you will get 12-13km/l as compared to that of hybrid which is 16-20km/l in city so there is big difference.
Real highway average of vitz is 15-16km/l if driven normally not soft paddle.
Hybrid saves alot fuel both city and on long.

On highways they will be similar but in city is where the hybrid shines.
Vitz will do 14 km/l and Aqua 18-19 km/l

Hi everyone. I recently bought a 2014 new shape Vitz. Mileage is 30,000km. I want to change the oil and filters before I start using it. Kindly recommend the best engine oil. I was thinking of going to Toyota authorised dealer and getting the genuine Toyota oil.

Yes Toyota offers their 10w-30 or 5w-30 tin can oil not the plastic one in 3.7 litre good for these cars. But buy from some reputable shop bcz Toyota sells the same oil Rs1000-2000 expensive & also the filters.
Other than Toyota any good brand 5w-30 will be good enough.
1. Liqui moly 5w-30 being expensive is very good but not available easily. Same for mobi1.
2. Total 5w-30 is also good.
3. Zic have 5w-20 or 5w-40.
4. Kixx is also fine.
5. Shell 5w-30 do the job. Cheap & easily available everywhere.
Now choice is yours.

You can use 5w-30 kixx, zic or liqui moly.
All are fine.
5w-30 is best.
And for filters get them from your local shop. And get original filters. Avoid guard etc.

So today removed the oil filter from vitz & open it to see the filter inside. Its a guard filter use 2000km and after opening it you guys can clearly see the filter is just rubbish, the paper is like hard sheet full of crap.
It was my first experience with guard and it is full of shit not using it again.

Thank you! I think I will just go to the Toyota dealership as I don't know if these local shops are reliable. Also, for tyres, should I go for 185/65 or 175/70 or some other?

Go for liquimoly 5w30. Get orignal lepon airfilter. Toyota will rip youoff. For tyres 175/70 or 185/70 both are fine.

Do you know of a reliable place to get the oil? Has anyone any idea if Filter House on Defence road Lahore is legit?

EDIT: After searching on the forums it appears there is a Liqui Moly authorised dealer on Ferozepur road. Will get the oil from there and the rest filters & CVT oil from Toyota 3s. No point saving a couple of thousand rupees and risking quality.

Thanks everyone. Just one more question, I was under the impression all newer Japanese cars have immobilizer. But now I think only the push button start vitz has immobilizer, not the normal F package one.

Dear the purpose of manufacturing hybrid vehicles is not to save ur money in reference to getting more milage per liter...
But but but it is actually to save our climate becoz using batteries cause less emission....
In pak we are buying hybrid car to save money but its costly in long run or when we chnge there battries timily.
So if u love earth n climate fo for hybrid...
If u want to sav money go for any car accordng to ur needs n purchse capacty

Toyota is better. Buy filters from any good shops you will be ok.
Soon i will open the Toyota oil filter from inside to check out the filter media. I hope it is better then the guard.
