I have found passo to be much more versatile and unique, seats fold in a way that you can practically put anything inside the vehicle or make them flat and live in it for a few months at a time.

Vitz is basically the same vehicle but in a more traditional automobile package.

I have driven both, and as per my opinion, Passo does not beat Vitz (provided all other parameters, and conditions are the same).

Brother same engine (like 1KR-FE in case of 1000cc variants) and almost same transmission (CVT) does not make these two vehicles same.

They are different, they were different, and will always be different.

There is a lot of difference between the 02; suspension, frame / body / chassis and its weight, tyres & rims, their sizes, AC performance, fuel economy, stability, comfort level, etc.

Passo feels more roomier.
Suspension wise vitz is better.
Passo has a slilghtly better fuel average
I like shape of the vitz more.
Passo is more practical and is more basic.
There is a price difference too of 1.5 to 3 lacs approx

I think, you can get first generation of both Passo or Vitz in this much budget, however, I would personally suggest to go for Passo, since in this much budget, Passo will be in a better maintained condition than Vitz.

Btw, you can also consider brand new PKDM Alto, but for that, you will have to increase your budget. A brand new car has its own charm.

Or you can also consider buying EFI Cultus. You can get one in mint condition, with model year 2016 and above.

These cars are very good in their own way, but the worst part is that these both cars have 1KR engines which are known for rough idling and low RPM knocking. Which is a killer for any engine, and that’s why you’ll see many vitz with swapped engines.

3-cyl engines have idle vibrations, although it’s much more noticeable if you’re coming from a 4-cyl beautifully purring well balaned honda engine for a new car owner the vibrations would just be normal and get used to it.

New Alto is leaps ahead of mehran, you cannot compare it to JDM 1000cc like vitz or passo.

Bhai konsa charm hai 15 lakh ki local 660cc alto main. He can buy a 2012-13 Gli, 2015-16 honda city or a 2013-14 vitz or 2013-14 passo in 15 lac.
Don't know which charm is there in 660 cc local kachra alto.

Only the external shape, seat types, interior are different.

Otherwise they're the same vehicles, same engine, transmission.

Vitz has a more "car" shape, Passo has more Santro type shape, Vitz has better aerodynamics because of its shape and might be a bit more stable on high speeds.

Now you decide what shape and interior you prefer.

That's true, curb weight of Vitz is higher.

Vitz AC/compressor is also heavy duty. Passo not that good in peak summers.
