i am using 5w/30 grade oil, not so much concerned about the brand, but the viscosity..i have driven it 70,000 km till date, Alhamdulillah, not a single problem or a drop of oil reduced.
my bench mark for engline oil change is 7000 kms
0w20 is recommended for all brand new cars. So used only 0w20
Thank you @Massive_One
I really appreciate everyone here, but can anyone please share the oil and temperature chart from the Yaris Owner's Manual itself? I don't think we will need to debate it further once we have that chart here.
i already did add it later in my previous post, maybe you missed reading it, no problem. let me share it again.. but beware , i have 2nz-FE engine yaris .
Thank you for sharing this. But it's a different engine, as you mentioned.
Can anyone please share lubricant chart from Yaris Owner's Manual? Anyone?
Internationally Toyota recommend 0w20 for this engine, Not sure about local manual.
for any efi engine in any PKDM vehicle 5W-30 or 10W-30 engine oil from brand shop or authorized outlet , better consult the owners' manual.
Exactly. Vitz manual also recommends 0w-20 oil for best fuel economy for 1NR-FE engines.
I agree - 5w30 is safe bet in our environment plus it's economical option. From technology prospective, new engines love lightweight oils, they also help in better performance and fuel economy.
0w20 is in pkdm yaris` owners manual. The "hot climate" logic doest hold true for the new engines. If the owners manual says 0w20 then you should use 0w20. You may also use thicker oil but then you would lose performance, fuel economy and engine protection

Do you have the manual with you? Can you please share a picture?

Hello everyone,I have Toyota Yaris 2021 Ativ X 9000km driven. I am feeling that in the morning when I start the car for the first time and try to shift the gear to D, it is very hard. It takes quiet an effort to move it. After driving for sometime than it gets soft. Its happened for the first time. Since Toyota was closed due to Eid holidays so I showed it to a local workshop. The mechanic told me that there might be a problem with the the break switch. I didn't agree as if the problem with the gear switch would be there than the gear should have been hard only while moving from P to R whereas it's hard on all the gears. Any suggestions or if anyone has experienced the same.
When you park your car, make sure it's in neutral and then pull the handbrake. Lift your foot off from the brake and you will feel that car moved slightly and its now held by brakes, then shift to P.
That's exactly what I am practicing
