Just came to Lahore from islamabad, there is wind whistling noise at 120Km/h from the driver door side, some one else getting this issue?

This is the case with every car.The engine becomes heavier the moment AC is put on.I had the same experience with my Honda City 1.3 CVT earlier and now with Yaris 1.3 CVT.This is more prominent on 1.3s but as you go up in power it reduces to a great deal.For instance its negligible in Civic 1.8 CVT.
As regards fuel consumption.It all depends on your style of driving and the traffic density.I live in Karachi and if driven in Saddar mileage is down to 8.0km/l while a drive to airport will raise it to 14km/l.

Got my yaris 1.3 cvti.
Only modification uptill now is installation of mud flaps. Got them in white color.

I am considering changing tyres to 185/65 R15 with alloys.
Additional modifications which will be done in few weeks.

1) installation of sound system
2) android panel with reverse cam (pls suggest a place in Lahore where android with 2GB Ram is available)
3) Fog Lights
4) DRLs
5) Auto retractable side mirrors
5) Maybe seat covers. (pls also suggest good place to get seat covers done in lahore)

The mud flaps looks properly fitted. Where did you get them from and did you get them painted afterwards? Does it need a hole to be drilled in bumper?

It is made in white plastic. There are holes where you can screw them in. No need to drill any additional hole.

It rains a lot in Lahore. I drove the car two days and the (dirt) splash marks were all over the side skirts and bumper. So it helps keep the car clean. I like the look of the car with mud flaps.

No need to use Triptonic. You can just put it in Sports mode and drive in D. Gives you more than enough power. I didn't even use Triptonic even on Babusar top. Triptonic was very helpful on downhills. Gives you all the control you need

So i got my ActivX on wednesday and did a 850Km day trip to lahore from islamabad and back today, got a real good feel about the car so basically.

Good Things about it:

Being a toyota, i was expecting the car to be very comfortable and it was, seat is comfy, ride is smooth, cabin is quiet.

The absolute best thing about it is the MID!! i am a numbers guy and i love how amazing it is, so much information and its looks awesome. I would take this MID over retractable mirrors, rear AC vents and driver seat height adjustment combined ANYDAY

Driving modes are great, they actually work

its giving me text book average of 11-12 Km/l in city and about 16km/l on highway driven consistently at 120Km. my commute to work is from bahria to G10 and in morning 35Min ride of 25 kms gives average of 17km/l driven at max 80

Power wise its adequate not amazing but im taking it to babusar and naran next week and thats where i will judge its power more appropriately

Bad Things about it:

Driving at 120km/h there was a wind whistle noise from driver seat window, have to get it checked it was quiet annoying

its badly missing cruise control, with cruise control its almost perfect economy sedan, might get it aftermarket if i find someone reliable

Head unit is crappy need a good android one

All in all, i am happy with spending 30ish Lac on it that Instrument cluster is just amazing i am having so much fun with it

Congratulations on your ride. Regarding head unit... It lacks a lot of features but it's quality is very good compared to aftermay"Chinese" Androids. You will have to adjust the Equalizer to match the quality you need - speakers are good but they are pretty okay. It's actually JVC Kenwood

The car is an absolute delight going uphill and downhill. I came back a couple of weeks ago from Babusar and frequently travel to Pir Sohawa. You will not feel the car underpowered at all and the suspension response is also pretty good on rough roads and potholes. For uphill all you need to do is put it in Sports and you can turn TC off if you want raw power delivered to the tires - and Hill Start Assist is so convenient. For downhill use Triptonic mode - at least this is what I do

I am using Cruise control in my ativ X from day one without any issues.

Recently got an Android 2GB variant. The plastic quality of the aftermarket player is quite flimsy and bad. However, the audio quality is amazing because of some DSP (digital sound processing) feature which offers multiple sound modes.

About whistle noise touched 190km/h but no such issues were observed.

I want to chime in on the 'whistling wind sound over 120km/h' issue. I recently also traveled at speed on the motorway and though I did not notice the speed at which it happened, I definitely noticed the sound of the wind and it was annoying af. This as already added to my concern about cabin noise in my Yaris ATIV X. I had already mentioned that I feel the cabin sound proofing is deficient from somewhere, I always keep thinking that a window is open somewhere. Will get this and all the other concerns checked at the dealership when I go for the 1000km inspection.

Same here. I went to Lahore and was driving 120km+. The wind hissing sound comes from the back windows specifically.

just got the car checked, apparently the hissing sound was from the driver side airpress that i got fitted from the dealer ship, he reattached it, have to test it to know for sure but bidy guy said door and seals are fine. the front airpress did seem a bit loose, lets see if that resolves it
