as soon as budget is announced i.e on or before May 28th. The commercial launch date will be announced and booking will start. It will be a KILLER for Lawn Mower CITY and a lockhorn with FAW V2 [ Chinese version of Yaris - Vitz ] which is 1300 2SZFE 4 cylinder already in market since last year.

FAW V2 with under 1.2 mil price tag, a seriously built Pakistani machine loaded with features which IMC / Atlas Honda / PakSuzuki offer at premium option price.

City and vitz have no comparison with each other. The city is a sedan whereas vitz is a hatchback, both fulfill different requirements. Not only this , the engine sizes are different in both as well. Vitz has a 1.0 engine (uptil now in pakistan) and the city has 1.3 or 1.5 litre engine options. Cant see the logic behind this comparison

vitz is also available in 1.3/1.5l engine but still there is no comparsion between city and vitz

Thanks zwk for sharing such info,I read an interview chairman imc few moths back and the interviewer which happened to be Business recorder shared that they will be coming up with yaris within 12 months
If I remember correctly a few years back imc was serious about launching Etios Cross,the same way they showed the variant to some selected dealers and upon their feedback and some thorough analysis they chose to drop it
This time around lets see,I think in a months time when AIDP-II will be announced and budget is presented to parliament they will be in a better position to make a decision

What im said is that vitz isnt available in 1.0 and 1.5 variants in Pakistan

Asked Toyota Cant motors sales and senior workshop guys last month. They were not aware of anything coming very soon. My idea is at least 2016 but the sooner it comes the better as we need more hatchbacks then sedans on our roads full of crazy drivers.

If honda maintains the suzuki policy and don't change the shape people will still prefer city for its price and boot. Just like the problem with swift. People buy city instead of swift. A very few people care about drive/durability. Diggi is something a job guy loves to have in his vehicle even if its a 10 year old honda city. It looks better then a new wagonr or cultus

Its mostly going to be the 1.2L engine rumoured and is directly going to hit Suzuki Swift, and indirectly Honda city and Corolla Xli.

Likewise just like people preferred buying local assembled Toyota corollas and Indus corolla JDM sold side by side. Indus motors had a good share of sales with imported and local assembled corollas.

Another thing to note is, that the third generation thai Vitz/Yaris is totaly different from the JDM/usdm and Euro spec. The car launched would be Thai spec which is a longer chassis and bodily different then the car already available in Pakistan
