I guess with this body size and this new engine (as being speculated above) a CVT would be great choice for city driving unless you are too found of manual driving thrill. GLI's CVT is under-power. 1.5 CVT will be even better.
Two main criticism about Yaris is body size and looks, I guess GLI (with new international shape) is crossing into mid size sedan segment not suitable for 1.3 or 1.5 engine heck even 1.6. This size like City is ideal for urban traffic and these engines. But I guess lot of our consumer want to show off a WADI GADI but will keep the engines small but that not going to work now. Even if City's new model is launched it will be surprising to have it in 1.3 it is all 1.5 in India.
For looks I guess when there will be enough of these on roads the debate of shape will subside just like it did for City or even that lambay nose wali city.
