I have booked a Yaris from a dealership in Islamabad, they are asking to deposit (pay order) for advance withholding tax, Is the advance withholding tax to be paid before delivery of vehicle?
Booking was done almost a week ago. Basically I had requested the dealership for expedited delivery, the dealership told me to firstly deposit Advance WHT. Guidance requested, please.

Sir, I have opted for Toyota's own offering for the first year. They also have a good rate 2%.

Don't know how they will behave when godforbid a claim actually arises.

The net payorder includes the WHT so YES you pay that before delivery (at the time of balance payment if booked on partial payment). If booked on full payment then the sales guy should have told you to get the PO which includes WHT. How come they missed out WHT?

I don't understand why they are asking for a separate PO for WHT.

Toyota Indus pays the WHT on your behalf amd you include that amount in the net payment PO.

SO basically the PO includes, cars ex factory price plus freight plus WHT (which varies according to filer status).

AlhamduLIllah... received my car today from Toyota Capital. Booked on 14th July with full payment. Ativ X CVT Super White.
Coming from GLi Auto 19 to Yaris My observations are:
The seats are super soft but sitting posture is not great as Corolla.Also tighs support is very less.
Steering Alignment issue.Will ask during 1000 Km checkup
Much better pickup from corolla.
Cabin is almost silent
Dhram sound when crossing any speed breaker.
Only tire sound is coming at speed above 70, i will change tire in a day.
Horn is pathetic , will install Corolla horn.
Speedo Meter is just WoW.

You'll get it within a month max, most probably in 25 days. I'm driving 1.3 mt. It has good pickup and fuel economy. Can't say the exact figures within city as I haven't driven much but it gave me 17 km/l from lahore to raiwind and back on sunday morning with normal foot (not light not heavy).

For the horn, I can tell you that even I thought it was pathetic at first. However, I had only heard the horn from 'inside' the car. I then stood outside the car and asked someone to honk and then I reconsidered my opinion. The horn seems fine to me. SO, if you haven't heard it from outside the car, I suggest you do so just to cement your point of view.

Couple of more questions and observations on the car. Would like you guys to provide your input as well:

1- Some people have mentioned that they can hear 'thumps' or other sounds from the car when going in potholes or over bumps or speed breakers. I have had NO such noise (yet) and I have gone through quite bumpy roads yesterday (it's Karachi )
2- I noticed something a bit odd. The trunk cannot be opened with the button unless the car remote is in proximity to it. I expected that the trunk could be opened simply by pressing the button when the car is unlocked. Can you guys confirm if this is by design or if I should get this checked out?
3- I drove the car in the rain yesterday and noticed something very annoying. As soon as it started raining, the noise of the rain drops hitting the roof made me feel like I was sitting under one of those tin roofs that we put on sheds or something. A very loud noise was created by the rain and this was quite shocking.
4- Is there a timed autolock feature in this car? (meaning that the car automatically locks after some time after it's switched off and everything)
5- Is there a button on the steering that can enable the voice control button for the phone connected to the multimedia? It is mentioned in the manual that there is a 'voice' button but there isn't any such button on the steering

I have seen a yaris in my neighborhood which was dented by hailstorm. Like the worst kind of dents which cannot be ignored, stand like an eyesore and cannot be fixed. Generally speaking I think cars aren't as solid as they used to be.

Yes perhaps but to be fair, that was hail so damage can be expected . But the noise of simple rain is just shocking. I use a 2005 Alto as well and there is negligible sound when it rains.

i booked on 12th july with full amount, it was invoiced 2 days ago, hoping to get it in this week. so taking almost 2 months for delivery. Also depends upon the colour.

1. Lets say you are driving the car and your car is unlocked, someone can easily press the button from the outside and open your trunk and steal anything if present while you are at a traffic light.
   It will only work when key is near the trunk
2. No autolock feature. only the basic feature that if unlock the car and don't open any door then within 60 seconds it will lock again. This for accidental button press that you accidentally unlocked the car so it will lock after 60 seconds since you didnt open any door.
3. Button on the steering wheel in not present sadly but yes the unit supports it. I may change the button with the ones which have voice command button added

surely looks better with 195/65. Have you checked with 5 adults whether the tyre touch the body under load bcoz that would be the main concern i guess??
