Got the Alternator (also sometimes referred to as the generator) changed.

Lets see if the issue subsides.

My Yaris Ativ’s Alternator and 2 other parts were also replaced few weeks ago and till now I haven’t noticed the whistle again but i was told that if incase it arises again they will again replace the parts in warranty. Moreover the Engineer sent by Indus Motors told me to not Revv the car while on idle (P or N), I usually don’t do it but i have never heard that you can not revv the car while on idle (i have seen various well known car reviewers on youtube do this especially when launching cars for 0-100 or doing the exhaust sound test) plus i am not a fan of launching cars but i fail to understand that why did he say this.

This is bull crap to say the least. My engine noise had reached a point where i was getting seriously uncomfortable. Even a sigma 4 fortuner didnt have this much noise on idle. I will test the car for a couple of days. Lets see......

They need to find the fault.

Finally installed few add on's, retractable mirrors, cruise (kabli), air press and engine hood namda. From A One auto, they have moved to Rimpa Montgomery Rd. Also caught the flu from the place (free of cost). Trying to familiarise with the sound of side mirrors closing and opening, plus figuring out cruise functionality. Initially was quite hesitant for the technician to make alteration with wires, but then moved away and let him do his work. Operating cruise initially was a challenge as it didn't set the speed but after sometime figured out the mechanism. Also wanted to put in mud flaps but the ones available on original fitting were very poor plastic quality, the better quality ones were only available for Corrolla. Let's see how these perform over a period of time. Still trying to figure out good place for seat covers, seems like everyone in market has same material and all trying to push their service, just price is different (any suggestions are welcome).

The Other Two Parts were Belt Tensioner Pulley + Serpentine Belt (Engine Belt)

Now thinking about it. I should have had the belt on the alternator changed as well.....

I left my car at Toyota Cantt Motors because it was difficult for me to visit everyday so that they could find a solution (the problem was a loud constant whistling noise while accelerating), so they test drove my car for 2 days and on the 3rd day I received a call saying they have resolved my issue but they were not 100% sure that it was the alternator so they also replaced the other two (Tensioner Pulley + Belt) suspected parts.

I think there is some quality issue with some belts present in Yaris because they took out the Engine Belt of 4-5 other Yaris (5-10000KM) and 3/5 had their hairs sticking out from the joint where both ends of the belt are stamped together, whereas Corolla, Fortuner etc has their Belts in perfect condition and those cars were driven more than 30-40K km atleast

He is right, in auto transmission accelerator should never be pressed while vehicle is in N and P position. It damages the transmission.

I received it in October 2020 (its almost 11K driven now)

He did not say that it damages the transmission instead he said that it puts load on the alternator and it gets damaged if you do it. I told him that instead of accusing me he should go and teach the mechanics that they shouldn’t do it because when i came to the dealership for the first time their mechanics were constantly revving the engine and when i asked they said we need to observe the sound so we have to do it.

The most ridiculous thing is a mechanic giving full throttle to an idle car especially when its engine is cold: a sure way to its destruction!

I travelled on friday night, I'm currently in battakundi. The car is performing beautifully till now, we are 4 guys and even with pretty bad roads the ride has been very smooth(one guy has severe motion sickness even he was fine in back seat cuz its pretty smooth)

The two best things are the drive modes and triptonic!! It makes driving in these areas so much fun... only used triptonic at the last stretch of babusar top and overtaking, otherwise normal and sports mode work fine

No issues negotiating the roads or heights, if you planning to travel to these areas or bad roads yaris is great option in sedan after corolla grande offcourse
