Hello Pakwheels family,
currently own Yaris 1.3 CVT 2021 model, almost 15,000km used.
as the topic says, i want to upgrade from Yaris.
Budget is 5 million (max).
don't want a car more than 3-4 years old (preferably).
requirement is that car should be above 1300cc.
daily driven car within KHI & LHE & once a month travelling KHI to LHE & vice versa.
need to know from experts about the available options & also please suggest imported car option in this range as per requirement.
help will be much appreciated

Since you have lot of travelling a car with cruise control could be good option try finding City 1.5 current generation non aspire it will do wonders in terms of fuel average and convenience

thank you for your input but i am not a Honda fan due to the stiff suspension as compared to Toyota. though i like Civic X but the only thing i don't like about it is it's suspension & low ground clearance & difficult for elders in getting in & out of the vehicle

i have driven 1.6 once but i felt it to be lil bit similar to Yaris. (in terms of engine power & pick). i might be wrong as it was a one time experience only

The suspension of the new City is not stiff like it used to be. The new City is much better in comfort (in terms of suspension and seats) when compared to old City and Civic. I suggest you try the car and then decide.

The acceleration of City 1.5 is comparable to Civic X oriel due to power to weight ratio. It's light and fast.

If you compare 1.5 yaris with 1.6 then yes both have almost similar throttle response but 1.6 is definitely more powerful than 1.3

Altis or Civic is an upgrade. In Civic X, the steering rack issue was resolved in 2019 so consider 2019 onwards Civic. City is not an upgrade.

2019 onwards civic will be 5M+ which is out of budget.

Dear experts,

please let me know appropriate time/mileage to change brake oil and gear oil for Yaris 1.5 CVT ATIV X. it is 55K driven since Nov 2020. Toyota dealership have different opinions some says change it around 65K km and other say do it around 80K.

Change it asap, it is to ba changed at 40k

It should be mentioned in user manual and these are linked with the number of years or KM whichever comes first

Aoa..can we use water only to top up the engine coolant??

Never use tap water. On my last oil change, the coolant level was near the low mark. They were asking 8k for the new bottle but they had spare available and topped up the car free of charge, I just gave the technician 500Rs

Looks like in addition to belt tensioner, suspension part called the z links is also a congenital problem in Yaris. Car gives tak tak sound on jumps and sometimes without jumps. I'm now waiting for belt tensioner and z link to arrive at dealer. Suspension part is expected in a week. No news of new improved belt tensioner though.

My car is making a screeching noise when i turn on the AC and it only comes for 1-2 sec, most probably its coming from AC belt. My next oil change is due in a couple of weeks and i will check it from the dealership. I wanted to know if anyone of you has experienced it.

The car is 2 years old and 40k driven.
