Tp link 3420 router help required

Bhai router reset ho ker factory default per chala jaye ga, he needs to update the username and password given by his provider, phr theek ho ga
and yea connect ur router with Ethernet cable before doing any mechanics

I have tried several times but router reset nai ho raha, sare green lights stable ON hai, is se pehle wo sare blink krte the jab teek tha. the router in question is tp-link 54m.

There are two ways to reset the Access Point’s factory defaults:


Method one:

With the Router powered on, use a

pin to press and hold the Reset button

(about 5 seconds) until the Sy

stem LED becomes quick-flash

from slow-flash. And then

release the button and wait the router to reboot to its factory default settings.



Method two:

Restore the default settings from “

System Tools



Factory Defaults

” of the

Modem's Web-based management page.

(Option 2 is to connect your router with your laptop directly via ethernet)
Its not possible that you cant reset the router/even its faulty it still resets, sometimes it asks for the ios issues but it certainly it should give some response.

Thanks bro! no na nothing works, I did tried that hard reset wala option, a hidden button on back of router pressed with help of pin for 5,10,15 sec several times, all lights are ON and stable only WLAN light blinks. ajeeb baat hai router reset he nai ho raha....
Option 2 wont work cuz laptop pe koi wifi detect he nai ho raha tu kaise mai confg etc mai ja k setting kr do, whats possible reasons and solution.

You don't need to detect wifi if you are connecting router with a Ethernet cord, just plug a cable with router and laptop, you see the Ethernet port number light flashing, indicates that its plugged in.
type the ipaddress 192.168.1.254 in your IE or any browser and enter (or simply go to the page-20) of the product datasheet which I sent earlier. if it didn't work, just say one time

Directly connected my laptop with wifi router through cable and then opened IE and typed 192.168.1.254 and result is as below, now tell me what to do next???

if u r using win7,
Than click start menu
type cmd in search
it will open up command prompt, a black screen
now type ipconfig in that command prompt
see if it shows u ipaddress, subnetmask n default gateway ..???
also advise which lights r on of ur router once u plugged in the ethernet cable ?

No IP or subnet is showing in command prompt.
Lights status
PWR light is green
SYS is off
WLAN is off
WAN is green
1 is green
2 is green
3 is green
4 is green

No ip means no response from dhcp, try to connect telephone line directly to the adsl port of router instead of splitter, turn router off n turn on after 15 secs, if reset is possible than owsome.
u r getting all ethernet on ??? Is there 4 gadets connected to router via ethernet ? If not than may b router is gone.
try to show the snapshot of ipconfig command, we may need to flush dns n reset winsock but thats later stage.

@waseef modem should turn off and restart if button was pressed for 30 secs. if not it is faulty. if it resets, find its default ip from its user manual and access it. mostly they are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

Thanks all for your help, I think router is gone, My ADSL modem is okay when i connect it with my laptop via cable. But when i insert that cable in WIFI router no signal is detecting by any device, and did tried hard reset several times but to no avail, soo i think its expired.

Yes it may be ..firmware is avaiable on tplink website
