Sorry to hear about your loss. It is indeed unfortunate.

On the subject matter, isn't there any legal binding between the service provider and the customer which could cover customer to some extent, under these circumstances? One pays a hefty amount for insurance and then tracker services on top of that, all of this for what? Pardon me for my ignorance as I have never dealt with such service providers but what I am trying to understand is their liability. If they cannot provide the service when you actually need it, are they liable for anything? Shouldn't they be penalised on the account of inefficiency?

firstly why didn't the trakker company disabled ur lighter socket.. its a SOP now that they have to do it as a measure to counter jammers..

secondly my personal observation, most of the times when the tracker based cars r stolen, either their servers r down or in between that time window where one update is sent and other would be sent...

m not a legal expert, but u can file a complaint involving c-track as party to the robbery..

Altho i mentioned the same point that lighter sockets should be disconected or the fuse should be removed, But while talking about the car in family tonite, One of mamus said how much does a 12v scooter battery costs? Wo _____ ke bache battery leike sath beth jainge.

Tracker companies to my thinking have no right at all to remove the lighter socket, they should b able to recover the car or else accept that they cannot recover cars anymore. And the companies should close down.

Minimum charges for the 3T insurace with free tracker is atleast 15,000rs a year. initial device for 40,000+ Anti jammers @ 5000 each. They are simply looting people, Rather a person should get thoose chinese systems that were advertised on Pakwheels. The system can be controlled by the owner him self

Insurance on the other hand costs around 5% with trackers and 4% without tracker

Thanks to Allah that it was insured. Please do offer sadka and my 2 cents on the topic is that these trackers are just ornamental pieces of false sense of security and it actually gives u a placebo effect and nothing else.

Well, totally forgot to say, even the Sadqa for the house was given on the very day of the theft, I returned by 11.30 pm after distributing the last bag of meat to some poor in the nearby, parked my car and then didn't see anymore of it, lolz!

Basically, I believe this Sadqa may have saved me from getting any alert!!!!!! As muslims we always believe in the better will of Almighty, and always loaded to the teeth, I may have ventured down on the slightest alert and either shot these suckers or probably have sustained something serious myself, who knows. I am sure the Sadqa didn't go in vain, it must have protected me or my house, and the car went out in Sadqa too.

on 24th december my brothers XLI 2011 was stolen from ISB G11 within 10 min at 8 pm from out side the gate of his friend house he just only entered in the hose and was waiting for a cup of tea when he get message from tracking company about battery tempering he immediately rush towards gate and found no car and recieved call from tracking company some one try to temper tracking system. only in 10 fukin min how can they be so genius mut my car was not insured and u know what after exactly 1 month the traker sim switched on in SAWABI in a mobile phone of pathan he attended call and said that he found this sim in G11 and afterwards the sim gone off.

these tracking companies are ******** and are involved in these thefts and snatching of vehicles i mean the circuit the tracker from six different ways tracker itself has 4 hrs battery timing anti jamer where the hell this all security gone in 10 mins without any starting message of ignition on ?

i have given time to the tracker company of fab 2012 if they r not gona find my car i ll be taking this tracking company to the court and sue this tracking company my father is a lawyer he ll handle this according to him we ll win this case because the security company failed to provide security

one thing more to add here that these tracking companies know ur movement and ur stay for example how long u stay at the certain places they provide all the DATA to the thieves and these companies r involved and equally responsible for the theft

according to a survey cars are being stolen or snatched from Islamabad and all are corollas it means more than 1 crore rupees of people is being looted everyday and no response from the government a big shame and question mark (?) if Pakistan federal capital is in this condition which has fool proof security and VIP moments every time than what can we expect in other cities
one FIA caught a car lifter 2 3 months back and was sent before a judicial court and the car lifter told the justice that he ll give them name with proof about the police official and politicians ministers and bureaucrats who r involved in this business but the court must provide security to him and his family then y the hell they didnt take any step ??

my tracking service provider name was EXTREME track and finally we have decided to sue this company for security lack which they were paid

you are right, mostly those cars had been stolen which were installed with a tracker so like ordinary means of reconnaissance by thieves to note your routine the data from these companies is an easy bail out package for the thieves. So if why being watched 24/7 by these companies when they do not offer any help in an event of car theft. This is the reason that no car in our family is fitted with a tracker because we already have some rivalries among different tribes and to add being watched like this is not at all a good idea.

well on 31 -01-2012 we called extreme track services regional manager here in multan and he asked us one week time and for finding our vehicle but still no reply so finally we send them a legal notice to pay us 2 million in 15 days which include 1.5 million cost of car 25k tracker fee 75k for finding vehicle and launching fir and other stuff and 400k for mental and moral agony other wise be ready for legal proceeding under consumer court and all they will pay court and lawyer fees

in our cotract with the tracker company they r responsible if they didn't find vehicle

so i advice u people if ur car had been snatched having tracker in it sue the tracking company take a step it might help others if the tracker service provider r involved in car lifting act

best is get ur cig lighters unplugged, hire a security guard best deterrent then tracker and big dog dogs scared thieves the most. other then that cars with trackers are even stolen in UK also and it happened to my friend his M3 was stolen outside his house in early morning in London never found the car.

Whilst watching a thread in vacations section a few days ago i have noticed some picture of a garage in swabi or something with 100s and 100s of toyota corolla...all new shape for sale and without number plates....(such garage and in such backward district not making sense) I am 80% sure your car had ended up in such remote garage or travelled across the border...everyone knows about it...it is a corrupt government from a-z.

It appears that some modern theives have started planning car thefts by utilising 21st century tracking methodologies....or perhaps got job in such companies..

Both of them had the fancy devices installed. Unfortunately these devices were of no use and through the darkness of the night thief managed to pull out both the cars so silently that no one woke up even when the big gate was opened. Next morning, only the small windows of both the cars were found. Luckily they were insured. Been nearly one year and still no sign of either of the vehicle.

Could you kindly tell which model civic it was, any immobilzer? Of what I've heard, one cannot short-circuit a civic, which requires some sort of signals transmission from the key to the ECU to get started, if I'm not very wrong here?

The only reason i have tracker in my Car is because the insurance company was not insuring my car unless i had it,which is the reason why i have it installed.SInce i think a year ive been hearing this crap that they are now installing antijamming technology in cars which is bull****

{Jammer diagrams are available on the net one can make them easily try typing jamming circuits in google and BEHOLD}
First of all Antijamming is a very complex procedure there may be concepts to minimize this effect but a complete form of such device has not been made and even if it has been it would be restricted to military and other organizations use only not to some pandoo/stupid/jahil tracker companies who claim to give antijamming technology at a price of rs 5ooo as mentioned above.

Disconnecting the lighter socket is useless as it serves many purposes. I charge all my cell phones etc

Also, the jamming devices come with batteries now!

But a cheap Chinese device or a cell phone with gps, go to local electrician and hide and install the device yourself.. that may work..

Or get a Chinese remote. i have heard some even work upto 10km! (a dealer told me they are banned now)

Oh, and suing tracker companies is useless.. They won't give anything.. They are just selling 10k device for 40k with a call centre.. Even if they lose the case, they'll never pay, change the name and start again!

both civic and corollas were 2005+ models. Not sure of the exact years, but both had immobilizers.

My car was also remain equiped with the tracker facility provide by (C-Track) company for last 4 year which was completed in Dec 2011 as it was the obligation from my leased bank to have it on my car.

As per my 4 year experience its a useless thing totally, many time due to repair purpose the battery was removed from the car but i haven't reciev any call from the tracker company on my complain they said that your car is appearing on our system, but basically it is totally a wastage of money, rather than that it is better to get your car insured comprehensively.

my personnel view is a big man with mean looking mustache and a gun and a mean looking dog standing outside ur house is a big deterrent then any thing else as for tracker it is helpful. Reminds when a friends corolla was taken at gunpoint it helped in getting the car back in 15mins, but best is have ur car fully insured to value its for ease of ur mind, or get an import as there immobilisers are reliable and one would need the original key to steel them not even a duplicate key can help ever notice how many vitz or imports are stolen very few.
