Transmission Oil For Daihatsu Mira ES

It's a 3 cylinder engine having engine number KF-941570. Year of Mfg 2012. That's what it says on Vehicle Identification card.

It's KFVE13 engine with D CVT
Daihatsu AMMIX CVT Fluid DFE (recommended)/DC
(Daihatsu insists that you only use this particular fluid. Take risks as you may.)

You can order AMMIX from Ali Express if you can't find it locally. It take a few days with Ali Express and no harm in stretching the CVT fluid by few hubdrad kilometers.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find it on Ali Express, but I would prefer AMMIX CVT Fluid DFE. All I can see is spare parts for CVT.

Ammix cvt fluid-dc is what Daihatsu recommends, compatible replacement includes Castrol Transmax CVT.

Thanks for informative replies. I have contacted Amsoil they said I need to purchase 4 quarts of CVT F, which is equal to 3.76 ltr. According to owners manual Replacement amount is (ℓ) Approx. 2.4 (drain), 5.7 (total capacity). Please tell me how much I should purchase.

Get 4 quarts. You'll might need the remaining during fill up process

Wats the need for castrol or such oils when both daihatsu and toyota cvt oils are same, just different name, toyota cvt fe you can use without any second thoughts,

You are right. I just got it replaced with Toyota CVT-FE transmission oil and everything seems to be okay. If anything, I feel the car performance has gotten slightly better although it could be completely psychological as there is no objective metric to gauge improvements (if any).

Many may not like and / or agree, but IMO, and as per my personal experience too, Caltex / Havoline® Fully Synthetic CVTF is also one of the finest oils in its league.

It meets / exceeds different criteria, including (but not limited to) Toyota Genuine CVTF-TC or FE, and comes at almost half the price of Toyota Genuine CVTF-FE (or TC).

Before buying, Just ensure that Caltex CVTF is 100% authentic.

(And I think, Daihatsu CVTF-DC is the same as Toyota CVTF-TC. Similarly, Daihatsu CVTF-DFE seems to be same / similar like Toyota CVTF-FE. Still, it needs to be confirmed)

Agreed. Caltex CVT fluid should do the job just fine. I had a can of Toyota CVT-FE lying around so I went ahead with it. It has been over a month and there are no problems so far!

I would still like to know feedback from Caltex users. I could use it next time if it's good.

Approx capacity is 4l, pour 3.3l correct level is obtained by fillimg to cold level mark min and then checking by bring fluid temp at operating level

Ammex cvt fluid DFE or DC is recommended for MIRA EiS as written in manual. This fluid is not available in Pakistan so alternate of Ammex CVT Fluid DFE is Toyota CVT-FE and alternate for Ammex CVT Fluid DC is Toyota CVT-TC so you can use both Toyota CVT FE or TC in Mira EiS. I recently used toyota cvt TC in my mira 2014 model. I also searched Toyota PIXIS EPOCH manual and they also recommended to use both Toyota CVT FE or TC. The difference between FE and TC is that FE is less viscous then TC but both are recommended and viscosity of ammex DFE and DC are equivalent to Toyota FE and TC . The recommendation for Earlier models of MIRA (till 2012) was Amikkusu CVT Fluid-DC which is equivalent to Toyota CVT-TC. Hope this helps and clear the confusion between these two fluids.
