best option for family trip is Hunza. its relatively cheap as well and ppl r good as well.
+ lots of options to c and go.....

upper hunza gojal is less crowded also. due to attabad lake u will have to cross by boat thats only problem......

u can also trnasport ur vehicle across the lake as well .....

if u dont wana do this adventure still then there r many options in hunza.....

You can go to Skardu but main stay should be in Khaplu. Amazing place away from crowd and naturally beautiful. Greenery and fruit trees all around.

It is the kind of place u r looking for. When u want to do sightseeing then come back to Skardu.

Start overnight from Lahore and follow Kaghan route till Mansehra.

From Mansehra take left side bypass instead of going right to Balakot and keep following KKH N-35.

KKH will go through Shinkiari, Battgram, Thakot, Besham, Pattan, Dasu.

You can stay for lunch in Besham.

Try to reach Barseen and stay at PTDC Barseen.

Next day start early and continue on KKH to pass through Sazin, Thor, Chillas, Gunar, Raikot Bridge (trek point for Fairy Meadows), Ramghat bridge for Astore and then finally Jaglot bridge for Skardu.

Take right from Jaglot and follow Skardu road till Skardu city.

Khaplu is further 2:30 hours drive from Skardu.

Till Jaglot, the route for Skardu and Hunza is common. If u go straight then u can reach Gilgit and then onwards to Hunza.

If u have 10 days then you can visit Skardu and Hunza in one trip or stay at one location. Its up to u.

Way to Sharaan is open now. Some part of the road was destroyed by floods for which an alternate route has been made and jeeps are going to Sharaan.

sharan track has been open for quite some time now (in season i mean) i have also been there after 2010 floods....

Asif Bhai, I think Mr Faisal need some minor details of sightseeing.As almost everyone may know the major places but as u mention"well u can trek to maidan village in Sharda (short trek)."
If u don't mind, plz edit/refine/add some detail in our visit which will be started from coming saturday plz.
Tentative Plan to Neelum Valley:

23/6 Saturday: Start journey from FSD at 21.00.
24/5 Sunday: Try to reach at Muzaffar abad till 06:00 Morning. After getting road clarity, move on and try to reach till Sharda. Night stay at destination.
25/6 Monday: Explore Sharda till noon(Sharda village, Ruins of Sharda University, Maidan village etc). Try to reach at Kel. Night stay at kel.
26/6 Tuesday: Early Morning heading towards Taobat. Try to visit Sardari/Jhanawi/Halmat.Night stay at taubat.
27/6 Wednesday: Early morning heading back to Kel and move forward to Shoonter.. Night stay at Kel .
28/6 Thursday: Treking trip of Arang Kel till noon. After noon return back . Night stay at Kairen.
29/6 Friday: Treking to neelum village till noon. Go to Jagran Valley and night stay at Kutton.

1/7: Early morning heading back to FSD.
