This bird in not indangered at all, and hunting this bird is not an easy task. the average bird being hunted in pakistan is less than 10 birds/year. infact this is not the Kamal of hunters, infact the habitet of these birds is very rough and tough, plus they are very shy and strong. they always staying on the most rigid cliff of the mountain. chasing them is just a thrill not a meat collection practise. hope you got my point. Hunting is not all about meat collection. just give you an example of last year we spent 7 days on those mountains last year and spent more than 100k in terms of camping, porters etc etc but we managed to kill just one snowcock and 4 snow partridges. but we were counting ourselves lucky to have these birds in bag. BECAUSE most of the times hunters spending days in mountains without seeing the single glimp of this beautiful bird.
IMHO the Himalayan snowcock and Himalayan leopard both are the proud crowns of Himalaya.
Infact hunting at high altitude is a big thrill and matchless activity.
