Sir G, the actual plan, at least for the rest of the gang was to try Sonia too. I was suppose to return back from Minglik Sar.
We took 5 days before the we start to walk. 1st night at Naran, Second Gilgit, 3rd Hunza, 4th at the stream as we were unable to cross due to the high flow. 5th day was wasted as the porters were unavailable due to a death in the village.
In total we had 11 porters load @ 20kg per porter. Extra things carried were mess tent, snow boots (plastic ones), crampoons, snow anchors, harnesses, arouund 120 meters of rope, extra warm clothings, ice axes, ice screws, acenders (jumars) etc etc.
Apart from that the food for almost 20 days was with us along with two 10kg gas stoves and gas lamp.
All that gear was carried as Sonia is a technical peak where crampoons and rope up is required.
After we reached the our base camp, we took the days rest and started our climb at 03:00 in the morning. Plan was to move the next day but nature had other plansn and we had to stay one extra day beacuse of weather, it was snowing.
we ended up playing cards all day and changed our plan was changed that day as I had to be in the office after weekend. I managed to convience Sakeena too. In the end Preeto and Ranoo had no other choice but to return.
