Trip to Kel on Cultus June 2011

We group of four friends successfully reached Kel on cultus car which was so risky and dangerous but daring and full of adventure.

Day 1 Lahore to Keran(Lower Neelum)
Departure from Lahore at night around 11PM Reached Muzafrabad at 9AM
Some friends are waiting there. They were on civic. We done Breakfast together. and take one hour rest. then continue our journey to Neelum after a long tough drive through Kundal Shahi and Athmaqam we reached Neelum at 6PM
We tried to reached Sharda but failed and return back to Keran and stayed at Guest house. Rs. 3000 per night for double bed room. the only option we have to stay at night.

Day 2 Keran to Sharda and Kel
10AM Departure from Keran Reached Sharda after very daring and adventurous drive at 03PM. and then drive to Kel reached there at 06PM. These times including some stay time for tyre puncutre and lunch etc.
Stayed at Govt. guest house @ 1050 per room and 2 metress.

Day 3 Return Kel to Upper neelum
For some reason we can't go to Taobat and start our journey back on the way we tried to catch some fishes but failed after 3 hrs hard work.
There is very beautiful view from Upper Neelum so we do a 3KM hiking and reached there.
Stayed at Govt. family Loudges @ 1600 per hut of 2 double bedrooms and one kitchen and one bath.

Day 5 Upper Neelum to Lahore
Departure from there at 12 noon reached Muzafrabad at 3PM stayed there for two hours then return lahore @ 06AM next morning.

Your information are quit helpful, for visiting Neelum Valley. I am also planning to visit Neelum Valley during 2<SUP>nd</SUP> week of Jully11, with family. Initially I was thinking to go upto Kel and taobut,
However as you advised now with family I will only go upto Keeran than from there I will take Jeep and will go to upper Neelum.
Please clarify again the road condition from Muzafrabad to Keran, how far road construction is completed up to Athmuqam or up to Keran
Also please give us the telephone Number to book the hotel in Keran where you stayed. The Rs 3000 wala.

AOA, Sorry for the late reply. Road under construction the bohat speed mein ager election ki wajah se construction nahi roki to 70% road complete ho jaye ge tb tk muzafrabad se Athmaqam tak.

Hi , Do you recommend Cuore on the same route ?
Can we go on Cuore till Taobat ?

Its possible... last week went on our santro, it made the journey quite well, took one underneath hit but then i drove more subtly and all was fine, saw 1 cuore that made the distance as well, just be patient in your driving and your car will be fine. The drive on the road is worth it.

But i had spacers installed in my shocks(santro is low clearance), cuore shouldnt be a problem but you can never be too careful.
